The group were getting restless. They were sitting around for far too long and there was talk of traps afoot. Not only that but Taylor...

Airlea walked over to the body and glanced down at it. Andrael strolled over and shook his head, saying a silent prayer.

"Time to move on." Said Lincoln nervously.

He stood by the Northern door boldly and shrugged his shoulders. Life was about taking risks. What else was there anymore? Sooner or later somebody had to. He pushed the release and walked through the open door.

The room beyond was pitch black but it was highlighted with a slight red glow. The red glow was coming from a light on a large door to the West. It was unlike any other door he'd seen so far in this place. It was enormous and there was a track leading into it, but it was sealed. The door had a white ring painted on it.

Not far from the door was a huge crate. The crate also had a beacon on it but it wasn't flashing. It looked like it had been dropped into the room. There was a parachute attached to the top of it, flung over the surface. He moved towards the crate as the floor started to rumble.

Lincoln's eyes shot back to the heavyset metal gate. He braced himself carefully and stepped back a few paces as it slid open. A large shuttle bounded up the track from the darkness. The light on the door turned green. At that moment the door to the South opened and his group stepped through. Lincoln glanced over to them and began to speak, taking another step back as he did so.

"Careful. I don't know what's in-"

There was a huge flash of white and blue. The group at the South door shielded their eyes as it overwhelmed them. When their vision returned, Lincoln was gone.

"What magic is this?" Dern asked miserably.

Ajax walked over to the middle of the floor where Lincoln had stepped. There was a circular panel glowing in a faint green light. He shook his head.

"Whatever it is we best steer clear of it. Poor Lincoln...."

The group fell silent momentarily.

"We cannot keep in mourning friends. There is still matter of crate." Said General Chuikov, motioning towards the parachute.

"And what about train." He said, pointing over to the shuttle.

Scott walked across to it and as he did the doors opened up. He peered inside. There was a large seated area and a red button that read "launch". He stepped out of the shuttle and glanced into the darkness where it had emerged from. A thin track went down the shaft as the floor below slowly gave way into nothing.

"Well...we can't walk across down there but the shuttle might run through".

It is now Phase 9. Phase 9 will end in roughly 24 hours from now.

Hopefully Lincoln survives whatever happened to him

Maria @ 3/4/2013 20:08
I hope Lincoln's okay! That flash was blue and white, not purple like the time travel flashes. Maybe he just got teleported somewhere else in the labyrinth and he's still alright.

Hopefully he will return to us again soon, like when Kristoff was taken away into that red room.

Kristoff Pieterson @ 3/4/2013 20:11
And the success of that shoe-taking is unknown?

Sophia @ 3/4/2013 20:11
I couldn't take them off. The knots were too tight

I.. doubt it, but maybe!

Kristoff never left the group though, he remained on the player list during that time. I don't get the feeling Lincoln is returning anytime soon, unfortunately.

This is the room where your items are to be? I assume that's the crate then?

If you are wanting more items, wait to hear what Brittany knows of the exits before you check any.

I love roller coasters too! :) However, I think riding one in this labyrinth would be really scary, especially if you don't know where it goes.

Dennis @ 3/4/2013 20:44
I say we get on the shuttle. Seems fun.

Willis @ 3/4/2013 20:44
Kristoff walked over to the crate impatiently. He kicked it, stubbing his toe quite painfully in the process. Fuming at his discomfort, he slid the lid from the top. It clattered to the floor with a thud.

He glanced inside and lifted out the contents. There were two things in there, a walkie talkie and a blank notebook with a pen attached to the cover.

I say we take a chance and go on the shuttle as well - hopefully it will lead us to Lincoln so we can be reunited with him.

Airlea, if you don't mind me asking, how does the notebook work? Do you just write something in there and maybe leave it behind for someone else to see, and is there a limit to how much you can use it? (when you get the info. that is*)

Kristoff Pieterson @ 3/4/2013 21:08
I wonder if I can talk to you Maria outside of this thread with it.

I'll let you know if/when I get it, right now nothing has been updated.

Dern @ 3/4/2013 21:09
Well now we have both of the walking talkers.

If I assume correctly they will allow us to walk away from each other but still talk through some sort of technological magic.

I have no idea about the notebook.

Perhaps one should attempt writing in it?

If it's magical maybe some sort of spell can be placed in it?

Though I've always been wary of that sort of dark magic.

Dern @ 3/4/2013 21:11
And I must say farewell to sir Lincoln.

He was brave to face this trap.

That has spirited him away.

I'm sure he will be remembered for his bravery.

When people hear the name Lincoln they will think of a great and noble man who put himself in harms way for a great cause.

We should be able to talk that way if we both check our walkie talkies.

I must say I am unfamiliar with this... shuttle.

Or Train as it is called.

I am not entirely sure what that is.

I know what training is...

but I feel this has nothing to do with that.

Peter Mallick @ 3/4/2013 21:24
Yay for items. Bye Lincoln. :\ Unfortunately, we knew this was a possibility.

We also know there is an item in the room southeast of this, don't we? Though I must admit I'm a bit intrigued by the train, maybe Kristoff should check that out?

Kristoff Pieterson @ 3/4/2013 21:25

I believe Lincoln is fine, perhaps in another dimension. It is unfortunate he did not have this device that allows us to talk, but on the other hand we have options going forth. We can split for a phase or two to check our surroundings and meet back while keeping in contact with each other. I suggest we cover as much ground as possible if Dennis and Kristoff provide safe passage for us to do so.

Tyrese @ 3/4/2013 21:39
Just a thought, but do you all think it would be smart for anyone who leads us into the next phase to be holding on to the walkie talkie moving forward in case they get separated?

They can be a bit scary. The bullet trains in Japan are amazing because of how fast they go, but it can be hard to get accustomed to such speed.

Scott @ 4/4/2013 1:21
I really don't think we should all go into the shuttle. Either half of us should go to the staircase and half of us back to that room to the Southeast, or half of us do both of those things and the other half take the shuttle. Or something like that.

At this point, though, we have too much to do to stick with each other for now. Cerberus will get to us at some point I'm sure, especially if we move at a really slow pace all together. And we have the walkie talkies which means we can always coordinate and meet back up if we split.

Kristoff Pieterson @ 4/4/2013 1:41
Splitting can't be an option. Our group is getting smaller and smaller.

Scott @ 4/4/2013 2:02
Really?

Granted, this is my first time in a labyrinth (wink wink). So I'm not an expert on strategies for conquering this thing but as far as I understand, we represent rougly half of the players in the game. I don't know how you can say splitting can't be an option. It just seems like the logical thing to do. Divide and conquer to get our objectives accomplished.

That being said, I'll defer to the majority for decisions like these because I'm definitely not an expert on this sort of thing.

Buuuuut I'll still give my opinion on things.

Kristoff Pieterson @ 4/4/2013 2:06
The only benefit I see from splitting is speed. Evil gain from a smaller group because:

- Less role to detect them/catch them out/prevent them
- Lower number of people to catch them in terms of discussion/if they trip up.
- Less people to kill.
- Dividing into 2 groups mean we are twice as likely to run into traps - in particular the group without me in it.

Probably more reason but I don't see it help good aligned players. This game won't be won by being quick so we might as well take our time and be methodical then be impatient and quick.

Scott @ 4/4/2013 3:46
Okay, that's fair enough!

Peter Mallick @ 4/4/2013 4:33
I was going to agree with Scott, but Kristoff's point that the only thing it does is save time is kinda true, I guess. Unless we take this train and it's a one way? Then idk.

Scott @ 4/4/2013 4:43
I mean, unless there's rooms that could potentially kill everyone that enters is, the only major problem I can see is Cerberus potentially catching up with and eating the crap out of us. Other than that I agree that it's safer to stay together. If we do all stay together, though, I don't think we should take the shuttle until we've gone back to check the staircase and potentially some other rooms (like the one Southeast of here where Brittany (maybe Dennis or Kristoff?) said there was an item).

That was the room SE from #1144, there was also an item East from #4958 (last phase)

Peter Mallick @ 4/4/2013 6:31
I think we should go back to the SE room and grab that item. I have no idea what to do about Lincoln though? We could try to go on the shuttle but there's really no guarantee he'll be there if we do that. He could be anywhere.

Unless anyone wants to go looking for Lincoln and bring an extra person with them (who follows them) and has the medkit. I don't know. Just thinking aloud.

Tyrese @ 3/4/2013 21:07
Airlea, if you don't mind me asking, how does the notebook work? Do you just write something in there and maybe leave it behind for someone else to see, and is there a limit to how much you can use it? (when you get the info. that is*)

I have the notebook now. It has 50 sheets, they can be dropped in rooms or passed privately into another players backpack.

Kristoff Pieterson @ 4/4/2013 6:34
How much can you write on a sheet?

Perhaps we should leave a letter to my good friend Lincoln

I have a sheet of paper that I am to write on. It's approximately 18 lines and doesn't appear as though there is a limit to how many words I can place on one paper. The only limit seems to be the actual notebook pages I have available.

Or private messages. Also useful. Glad Airlea has this item

Ajax @ 4/4/2013 7:08
(I'm back)

I agree with Tyrese that the person going first through a door should be the one holding a walkie talkie. If anything happens to that person that isn't teleportation (as in death) another one can pick it up. It seems the best way to keep together so far.

As for the route thing. Since taking the shuttle would take us to a trap it leaves us with only one option.

(this phase and the following I won't be to active due to commitments)

##Follow: Airlea

Ajax @ 4/4/2013 7:11
(Also one last thing. If anyone else decides to modkill themselves, please just go inactive and let us push you over any trap. This would be more useful than killing yourselves.)

Maria @ 4/4/2013 7:42
I'd rather to back to the previous room and go East to get the item Brittany sensed.

Dern @ 4/4/2013 8:16
Yes perhaps there is a key there.

If we get a key going south will give us more options I think.

Plus if Cerebus gets close it would be nice if we can hide in a locked room.

General Mikhail Chuikov @ 4/4/2013 8:51
Poor Lincoln, brave soul.

I do not think this teleportation trap would lead Lincoln to the end of the shuttle, that would be very silly. I suspect he is somewhere alone in the maze. I hope we find him again.

I do not think we should take the shuttle just yet, not knowing where it leads might be problematic and confusing.

I do not think splitting up is needed. We have Dennis to scout the nearest rooms that allows us to see whats in them and decide the best course.

I do not think a lot of things.

Tyrese @ 4/4/2013 8:52
I also feel that sticking together is the best bet. United we stand.

General Mikhail Chuikov @ 4/4/2013 8:55
Can we push Erebos this phase? He doesnt have I behind his name but I feel someone mentioned that we could last phase.

Tyrese @ 4/4/2013 8:59
I think we have to wait until the I appears beside his name before we can push him General.

Sophia @ 4/4/2013 9:20

I do not think we should be worried about Cerberus. Not until we hear from him again. Fearing something that might be far away is silly.

I don't know if we're going that far back yet.

General Mikhail Chuikov @ 4/4/2013 11:32
We should also keep in mind that teleporation trap might reactivate. So going back might mean someone else getting teleported away. Then someone else getting teleported when we return from backtrack.

Of course nothing certain in here but I feel need to say what possible.

Perhaps it best we continue north(scout some more, perhaps wait here while Dennis checks the surroundings? Dennis I do not want to sound harsh but please do not do it again without the consent of group because we want to wait for you and I think it best we talk first, do later) and return to stairs in south when we have better knowledge of trains / maze in whole.

What people think?

Hobert @ 4/4/2013 12:31
Well this is the room we teleported in. Usually once you set off a trap it doesn't reactivate unless someone were to have a role that does so. I'm not particularly worried about it reactivating.

(But I don't personally know how Cerby works...well I do to an extent, but I never ran into him. I don't know if you can hear him when he gets close or what. If he's just stealth until he runs into you, then I'm worried about going back.

But to comment on Scott's concern with him he doesn't just come in and eat everyone in the room from what I gather. After a snack a doggy has to sleep so I assume he gets a small rest period afterwards and give us time to move...where he will then be hot on our trail again.)

Hobert @ 4/4/2013 12:32
And I hate to ask, but can someone post an updated map? I want to compare and make sure I'm on the right track. Thanks! :)

Good to know, I did wonder about that but couldn't remember specifically if they did or not. I know other traps didn't automatically reset but felt these may be treated differently.

So the decision is do we go back south, or continue north?

Why did I have in my mind that only a certain amount could exit through the stairs? Did I dream that?

I think that if anyone travels from the other side to this side, they might not exactly be our friends. Maybe it's best if we didn't.

Not disagreeing with you, but I am curious your reason for not going back. I know most have seemed to express an interest in going back SE for an item, to the stairs, or to the dropped item. I have been wondering why going further North wasn't ever really mentioned much.

Sophia @ 4/4/2013 16:19
I'm ok with north. I honestly forgot it was an option and thought all we had was the shuttle. Oops.

Airlea @ 4/4/2013 16:33
I assume no one has any indication of what the item SE would be. We can't base our entire decision on that item, but a bp vest, key, etc might be very useful. Then again we also don't know if going to get that item and returning to this room would retrigger the shuttle/trap situation. Just random thoughts.

Because I think we will return here eventually after backtracking and possibly loosing another member to teleport trap. Im not saying its 100% but id rather scout north first.

Airlea @ 4/4/2013 16:38
Dennis @ 27/3/2013 23:37
Thank you for the map. I'm going to upload my own real quick because that'll just be easier.

Also something that I 'know' about the labyrinth itself that I'm not sure is public information is that it's two-story. On the otherside of the medical supply closet is stairs to go up. If a room has an "upstairs" component with the same x and y value, just a different 'z' value- I can go there in one turn, but I can't bring anyone with me.

From what I know, there are only a few rooms that are actually on the "upper level"- but I think that they're significant...

Ok, I think this is what has me wondering about exiting the stairs. Dennis can you explain your comment about the x,y,z values? I'm a little lost on that part. Maybe Arimnestos can give a little more detail on the stairs exit from that room.

Sophia @ 4/4/2013 16:38
If we go south I'd want to head to that room that the mystery package was dropped in. If its a choice between SE and north for now I'd rather head north.

Sophia @ 4/4/2013 16:40
Yeah I think risking the teleported reactivating is a bad move. Even if we can push erebos

Dern @ 4/4/2013 16:49
I think south would only be a good idea if we find a key SE of here.

the prospect of going all the way south then all the way north again is a bit saddening.

Perhaps south, east, then we try west since erebos will be prepped for pushing by then.

I don't think it's a good idea to ignore the fact that one of the immortals is so close by. I think it would be best to try and release it while we still have such strength in numbers, we don't know when we will be able to return to it if we leave it now.

Airlea @ 4/4/2013 16:51

No need to apologize. I'd just hate to find out later that Dennis was right and there was a immortal there, and we just walked past him.

Dern @ 4/4/2013 17:22
I have an idea.

We check the for the item south and east of here.

If there is a key there then we will go south to the stairs.

If not we head either further east (if available to us)

or we head west.

If nothing comes from going west we can always head back south through room 9880.

Dern @ 4/4/2013 17:25
Room 9880 will also be a good room to pass back through since we know it doesn't have any traps in it in either time.

So if we wanted to we could make a portal at that point.

We don't have to that's just an option.

And if we were to make a portal that would be the safest place.

All we know is they are going north currently.

We have no way to know what they are doing though.

If you look at the map we have a few options.

East where that item is looks like it might round back down through that trapped room and come out on the back end of that locked room.

If we have the key that wouldn't be that big of a deal and we could just come through that way.

Then we could be heading towards the stairs but also looking through new rooms.

If there isn't a key we could similarly be exploring the rooms north of 9880 a little before going back through those rooms.

I think hitting the stairs is the best option we have right now but as you can see there are a lot of options as to how to get there without necessarily retreating our steps.

Dern @ 4/4/2013 17:51
5730 is 2 colors because there may be more Shuttle rooms but this room is in fact also a trapped room so I marked it as such.

Dern @ 4/4/2013 18:03
Whichever way we choose I think South is our best bet for now.

As much as I would like to ride the bullet chariot the immortals are far more important.

There is only 2 more hours to go so there is not much more to say.

North holds no items and Kristoff has not said anything about traps there.

It would also only put us farther from the stairs.

So, all that said.

Going to the stairs has always been a plan so if we went north either we would have to come back south or find another way around. Not to mention the item could be of use. And the fact that there's a locked room... I feel like we would have to come back through here if we went north at least once. May as well try to finish everything up down here first.

but he is brave five minutes longer.
