The smell was getting quite bad as Eleanor led the way onwards. The body of Culo was slumped practically in the doorway so she had to push him aside as she pressed the release to stop him from falling and getting stuck in the doorway. The force of the automated metal slamming would have probably torn his head from his body and spending another length of time with that wouldn't be the best. She moved him aside carefully, not recoiling or flinching even when the worms dripped down onto the floor. In the distance she could hear Brittany shrieking. She disliked it.
The room beyond was a standard size with the only other exit on the Western side, and that one locked shut. She walked across the floor. The lighting in here was a breath of fresh air. Not bright, but so much brighter than what they'd come from. It was glinting off something near the Western exit. In the middle of the floor sat a box with a number of locks, each leading into a compartment. There were five locks in total, which probably meant five keys. This should be simple enough.
She strode across the floor and put her hand in the crates containing the keys. Five keys, just like they thought. As she reached into the crates however, the bases opened up and the keys disappeared into some kind of mechanism below. She heard them clanking away down there.
"Perfect." She said glumly. The others were sat around forlornly. Nothing was that simple.
There was a rumble from up above as something fell from the ceiling. Eleanor looked up and watched as something fell down with a clink sound. Was that the keys? They'd gone around to the ceiling only to fall...
Then it hit her.
"Who has a key in their pack? Let's make it fucking quick, we don't have all day." She demanded.
The keys must have fallen into their packs at random. She turned back to the box. The top compartment was separate from the smaller ones underneath. It would probably need all five keys to open. Whoever put their key in last would get whatever it contained. The smaller compartments underneath would open individually, one with each key turned. It was a complicated design but what was simple around here?
It is now Phase 54. Phase 54 will end in roughly 24 hours from now.
Objectives:
Your inventory will be updated to state you have been given a key if you have. These are unlike regular items and will not take up a normal slot and cannot be used outside of this room. Once you have your key, you may turn it and open the lock. With each key turned, the compartment will open beneath and you will gain whatever is inside. When all five keys have been turned, the last player to turn theirs will gain whatever is in the top compartment. You may trade your keys, as you would trade items.
Players (11):
Airlea
Brittany
Dennis
Eleanor
Frederick
General Chuikov
Hobert
Kristoff
Mark
Peter
Sophia
Exits:
East
West (Locked) |
|
Hmm, interesting. I can't imagine they'd be trapped? |

Hmm, interesting. I can't imagine they'd be trapped? |
I can. It's the perfect trap. |
|
This is the room Dennis said his "leverage" was in. |
|
Once again, I think we should pass on this. All we need is guardian stuff now. |
|
I don't know, I think we should go for this one personally. There's no guarantee on death here. The russian roulette one there was. |
|
Is there anything we need, aside from Guardian crap, worth risking a life for? |
|
A revive book would be good, but idk if it's worth the risk. |
|
We have to think it's both guardian stuff, but how long we have to travel and how many people may die in the process. |
|
|

Might be...at the risk of me. |
|
Hobert, if you don't mind me asking of course, what is your role? |
|
|
We have to think it's both guardian stuff, but how long we have to travel and how many people may die in the process. |
Exactly. We want to minimize death. |
|
I don't understand. Were people supposed to randomly get keys in their packs? I got nothing. |

Knowing our luck, Frederick probably got all 5. |
|
Well, if I read right, there should be 5 prizes from this and then a 6th.
Every key unlocked gets something right? |
|
But I just posted when you did. That's all. ily. |
|
Airlea, Peter, Kristoff...I'll leave you to make that call.
I have a key btw. |
|
I'll at least use my key now just to see what happens I guess. |
|
I might get something that is enough of worth. |
|
Good idea, little dude. Good luck to ya. Let us know! |
|
I'm also up to doing the last key if we think it's a trap, cause I has da extra lives. |
|
Won't it reverse everything thou? |
|
Yeah Makr doing it would be very pointless. I don't have a key |

I would assume Airlea has one then. |
|
I'm leaning towards playing this fucking game.
I agree with Mark. Death is not a certainty here like in Russian roulette.
And taking the attitude that we don't have to take any more risks is fucking dangerously complacent. You think we are on an easy streak from here on because after 50 phases we are finally starting to get somewhere?
I am willing to bet those fucks Willis and Pollux have more unpleasant surprises in store for us.
Shit...I haven't got a key. A fucking shame. Hobert does though. Anyone else?

Also, did I hear Lee died last phase? Tell me it ain't fucking true. |

I didn't say we don't have to take anymore risks. Just not ones where the reward is not likely to be anything good. |
|
He didnt die I believe because of his second life. |

I don't know about that. A room which is locked on one side and has a trap room on the other? I would be hopeful of finding something quite useful.

Frederick will have one... |

I think we wait for Hoberts update before doing anything else, since he said he was posting to use his. Unless they won't update until all have posted.
Frederick may pass his if he has one if he doesn't want to use it. |

Are we definitely opening these? If so, should we pass the keys to Mark or Hobert to open? I do agree and have e same feeling that something will be trapped. |
|
I am optimistic about this room.
Think about it.
This door is inaccessible to the west without a key, and to the east is a fucking laser trap which killed Culo. Those are the only two ways to reach this room.
Do you guys think that the reward for reaching this room will come at a cost too? I don't think that is the aim of this game. The aim is to get us to work out who gets the item, or even compete for it. It isn't like the Russian roulette game. Speaking of which, that room is only 3 phases away. I doubt there would be two fatal challenge rooms placed so close together.
I am like 99% sure that fuck all will happen for playing this. I will take someones key if they don't want to play. |
|
I agree with Eleanor.
I think this "challenge" was intended for much larger audience that is embedded with trust issues. We all trust each other here, no?
This was intended to cause mistrust if one or more keys are not found. With very many trusted people here, I do not think that will be problem for us. I do not think it likely there is trap in one box. |
|
Hobert I meant if one was passed to me.
Guys do we not have the gloves? I've asked this about three times now to no answer. We can claim the key from Frederick that way. |
|
I am not sure what items are where. Very confusing when we where handing them out and I am usually not here when phase ends so missed final tally.
I do not have any items at moment if you wanted to know. |
|
The gloves should be in our group somewhere since the others have the staff and the sword. That was what we agreed upon.
Whoever has them, check freddy and denny for keys, and pass them over to mark or myself if you find any. |
|
Oh, and my results...
There is a group 5 rooms NW. Pretty sure that is the others.
And in the past:
There is someone six rooms due North. (Tyrese I think)
Last few results for him:
Phase 51 (9392*) Tyrese was 5 rooms South in the uncharted SW area.
Phase 52 (9682* I think?) he was 8 rooms NW, putting him around the area of 4889*
So he took a shuttle from that SW room in phase 51. I don't know what color shuttle is around that area, but I think Tyrese just found the other side of it for us. |
|
No sign of Lee? :\
And I do not have the gloves. |

I'll figure out mapping wise where he's at. |
|
There should be 3 separate groups north of us in future, Lee, the group and also Urk.
I don't think the other group has teleported yet, or I would say the results from the past could be them. |
|
Airlea, can you post Boone's latest map, I need to confirm my room placements ? |

|

Here is what he gave me last night.
|
|
-bows head-
Thank you muchly dear. 8199 placement was bugging me. |
|
No problem, but how the heck is Tyrese traveling if that is really him in the past?
Also, I haven't placed my scan for this phase. I'll search randomly to continue trying to find Guardian rooms and things unless we need something else checked instead. |

Sigh, Eleanor I truly do not understand how your ability works.
Like the other group is in 2830* and 8199 respectively. So I really don't understand how that makes them 5 NW. |

I think this makes the most sense as to Tyrese's movements.

Brittany!! :) could you unlock the door please? Think you have to post in your inventory thread for that one but I'm not sure. |

If Fred or Dennis come around tell them to pass their key off.
I'm willing to open the locks but since I got an empty drawer I'm wondering if someone has already done this. |

I assume every key has box to open, so some boxes could be empty like chests. Not mean someone take item that was in it. |

How did Brittany go from being 30 below me to now surpassing me? :P |

Eleanor did you not scan Phase 53? |
I am afraid not.
I will ask for some confirmation on things related to my role next phase. |
|
Four of the keys are accounted for, correct?
Meaning that most likely either Dennis or Frederick have the last one. Which is fucking shit. I would have proposed the glove holder rob the bastards and pass the key along secretly, but it's a wee bit late for that now I think. |
|
I'm beginning to think the gloves are in the other group too |
|
If the gloves are fucking unaccounted for then they might be in the hands of scum.
Nobody wanted them in the same group as the staff and sword. Have the other group been told? |
|
West is not trapped in either timeline. |
|
Maybe whoever has them doesn't want to say they do? Just a guess. Easiest way to prove the gloves are here would be to randomly take and pass something so we know they are with us for sure. Could even just take and return something to the same person. |
|
(Well for this round passing the key would be even better lol) |
|
Aye, I would like some confirmation on the gloves at some point. |
|
Nothing in either key turn. I wonder if someone has already been here and done this... |
|
Mark, I will explain my results to you.
Let me use Boone's map.
My result for the other group is 5 rooms NW, though I think I am actually detecting Stonehard and Urk.
I will show you how it works.
Not including the room I stand it, I am given the number of rooms between me and the nearest player. In this case it is Stonehard and Urk in 8166.
There is an underlined number to show how the distance matches up with my result. |
