Wikey hid under the stairwell frantically with his fingers in his ears. He looked up as the doors to the room unlocked. The door to the South opened and he quickly dashed North. He pressed the release and jumped through just as he managed to catch a glimpse of a blue-tinged canine head jutting through the Southern door. It howled and that howl made his soul leap out of his body.
Wikey shook his head morosely and looked for anything that could get him out of this mess. The room he was in overlooked a volcano. That wasn't good news. The metal from the previous room ceased and everything turned to brown volcanic rock. He crawled over to the cliff edge and looked down.
Below the lava bubbled and boiled away. Wikey stared as a jet of flame licked up the side of the cliff and almost took his eyebrows off. He raised his finger and shook it disapprovingly at the lava. Then he backed himself up against the wall.
Squinting he noticed the large metal platform hovering over the volcanic crater in the middle. Ash and smoke filled the air so it was hard to make out but it was rocking from side to side and held up by some chains. He shook his head.
This place was nuts.
He crept along the wall and glanced over at the Eastern exit point. Seemed to be the only way out that wasn't dog food. He sat by the door nervously and watched the Southern exit with intent. Nothing was coming through...just yet...
He waited.
