The door to the West slid open. Wikey walked through nervously. He thumbed up the group with a big smile as he ventured into the unknown, turning it into a mock salute on his way through.
His eyes trailed the ceiling where the mysterious tunnel was heading the same place he was. He followed it absent-mindedly. It continued on through the room, heading West. He peered into the room a little more and then took a step forwards. Nothing bad so far.
His eyes however were quickly drawn to the south of the room. There was no exit this way, the only available doors were the one he came from and another heading due West. But there was something he hadn't seen before. It was a door of sorts but it was very high up. And it was sealed completely.
This door extended out onto a sort of platform. There were some sort of railings on it like a monorail track. Above the door there were two lights. One was a greenish hue, the other was a bright red. The red one was glowing out.
Wikey walked cautiously towards the platform. Ladders going up to-
*CLICK*
He looked down at his foot which had depressed a tile on the floor. He frowned as he lifted his foot up and-
*WHOOOOOSH*
There was a tremendous crashing sound. The most remarkable thing about it was that Wikey never screamed. He merely made the mouth gesture and waved his arms.
The group quickly rushed in to investigate the crash. Wikey, somewhat dejectedly was stood in the centre of a small cage. It was attached to a chain that had descended from the ceiling. He sulked and motioned like he was lifting a heavy object. Ublazrob called Bagshot over and the two tried to lift the cage...
This thing was heavy. They got the rest of the group around on all sides and tried as one unit to hoist it upwards but it was no good. Looking down, there seemed to be some sort of latch system securing it to the ground. The group fumbled with the latches but nothing happened.
"Don't bother." The familiar voice of Willis echoed out. Towards the corner of the room a small screen was displaying his eye.
"Even if you wanted to you can't release those latches. They'll only open up in 24 hours. By which time I trust you shall all have bid your farewells to this rather sad creature."
Wikey shook his fist.
"I never cared much for street performers. Probably best he stays."
The voice faded out.
There wasn't much else to do but at the very least they could investigate the upper platform. Malarkey walked over cautiously and tested a ladder that was draping from the top and leading downwards. They could climb up and the ladder seemed secure. He climbed up to the top and peered over.
The platform didn't have much to offer other than the railings. There was a security barrier at the very end where the track ceased to exist but nothing more. He clambered back down and shook his head.
Wikey palmed his face and sat down. Noiselessly, he motioned to punch the floor.
You each have 24 hours to move through an available exit.
