Okey I dont think we should ask about columns, not like Merc did. The key is definitivly in the south-east then (if no one here is lying!)

Possible plan:
We ask if its in rows 1-3
We ask if its in rows 4-6
If its in 1-3, truth guard will say yes, liar will say no
If its not in 1-3, truth guard will say no, liar will say yes
If its in 4-6, truth guard will say yes, liar no
If its not in 4-6, truth guard will say no, liar will say yes
If the key is there, we should get 1 yes and 1 no.
If the key isnt there we should get 2 no´s or 2 yes

We already eliminated rows 1-6.
If we ask columns 9-12 and rows 9-12 then we can narrow it down to a 3x3 area. | | |

Well if Klaus comes on and gives the answer he got we should know if there should be a liar in the group (if he gets a yes then there's no reason any of us should be lying). | | |

Does anyone think my plan makes sense if there is a liar in our group?
If we dedive the maze into area´s 1-4
Rows 1-3: Area 1
Rows 4-6: Area 2
Rows 7-9: Area 3
Rows 10-12: Area 4
Merc got a no
Truth: Key is in Area 3 or 4
False: Key is in Area 1 or 2
So if we ask about Area 3
We get a no
Truth: Key is in area 4
False: Key is in area 3
We get a yes
Truth: Key is in area 3
False: Key is in area 4
Is this logic flawed somewhere? | | |

hmm there are probably more cases depending on where the key actually is.
I think my original plan made sense :P
