Through ep 2 now and DAMN Swearengen's a compelling character, I can see why he has so much hype

also I had no idea Olyphant was in this, I guess he's just the official TV western guy between this, Justified and ofc Bounty Law

Nick Offerman's guest appearance was great

BILL NOOOO :( I liked the way they did that scene, no time to even think about what was happening before he gets shot also hey Liz Sarnoff wrote this one, that's a name I haven't thought about in a long time

BOI O BOI did this ep feel oddly relevant. The way all the town leaders tried to tweak the language etc to downplay the 'plague' was so real. Wish they would've went even deeper into that tbh, like seeing more of the citizens' reactions

get OUTTA there Alma!!!! I'm getting so nervous for her and Trixie, I'm sure this is gonna end badly for one of the two The brother/sister arrival is interesting, with them apparently intentionally whoring out the sister on the DL. Curious what their angle is

I'm so used to westerns having slower paces that this has felt p unique. I guess plot-wise this still moves fairly leisurely, but SCENE/dialogue-wise it feels p rapid fire. I feel like I miss a bit cuz I'll be soaking in what just happened in one scene and we're already diving headlong into another dialogue-heavy scene. AHHHH

also Calamity Jane is the best

They've done a good job filling the town with lots of colorful/distinct personalities. Not really a weak link in the bunch. I like Bullock and the Doc a lot too. And Swearengen is still stealing scenes obv

Bill's death was a bummer but they definitely broadcast it all episode so it wasn't a surprise. I had a feeling from ep 1 that he wasn't long for this series, probably partially because I didn't know Carradine was even in this show in the first place but on top of that you could just FEEEEL it coming. Really good ending, the music playing while Dillahunt was being chased through the town. Good stuff And yeah Jane SUUUUUUUUCKS. We have hated her since her first moment. When the doc tried to watch after the little girl after they brought her to camp we joked about Jane drawing on him for no reason and yelling GET YER DAMN HANDS OFF OF HER! and one second later that is exactly what she did, it was so cringey. We audibly groan every time one of her scenes start. Her voice, walk, attitude..all so bad. Maybe she changes with Bill's death Funniest character might be the hotel keeper, hes such a hilarious weasel

This show is god damn great, I'm considering rewatching it so I know what the hell is going on when I watch the movie that came out last year.

done with S1, good shit. Definitely a slow burner but the characters make it worth it

JESUS that scene with the kids was brutal. Honestly that put Tolliver above Swearengen as far as villainry goes, they're both psychopaths but that was on another level (and at least Al has kinda, sorta been shown to have a softer side) Kristen Bell was great in that part

Poor Reverend :( His scenes post-tumor were so uncomfortable to watch, that "walk among friends" with Bullock was honestly the most (and one of the few) heartwarming moment of the whole season

lol Bullock becoming Sheriff was telegraphed so hard, I dig it tho. He's for sure one of my favorites also WHERE'S CALAMITY JANE! Did I miss something?? I think the last scene with her was Charlie scolding her for being drunk, then she just kinda disappeared

I only looked at the cast listing afterwards, I had no idea Mrs. Garret wasn't played by Carrie Coon (: She looks so alike

Finish The Leftovers and watch her amazing performance and maybe you'll start to recognize her....................

The acting wasn't the problem on that show!! And I gave it two whole seasons

I'll just watch Fargo S3 or Gone Girl again
