aka movie of the year contender according to many
saw this today and it was GREAT
|
I already was loving the movie when it was just a fun/lighthearted CAPER but BOY did shit spin outta control when the maid rang that doorbell. Not watching any trailers/reading reviews definitely paid off just for that twist, I had no idea it was gonna get that crazy. The backyard party scene was nuts, poor Ki-jeong. My fav :(
Head injuries really were taken p lightly in this movie huh (: That was a great sound effect when the maid got kicked down the stairs and slammed her head at the bottom, I was shocked that she lived through that. And was even more shocked that Ki-woo survived the rock to the face
But ya liked just about all of it. Scenes that stuck out:
- the whole sneaking sequence that culminated in the Kims having to listen to the Parks finger fucking each other. That whole sequence was so tense
- the fight between the Kims and the maid/her husband. The maid kinda got done dirty by the Kims but I couldn't help but internally cheer when Ki-jeong dashed over to the fridge to grab some peaches
- the shot of Ki-jeong smoking on the toilet that's actively spewing shit, as well as the overhead shot of the Kims having to raft out of their street |

Parasite
Worthy of all the hype. It's fantastic. Feels like every single small moment comes back around in either a comedic or tragic way. It's so well written and unpredictable. I decided to watch/read nothing about it so I went in super fresh, I didn't even know the genre. It ended up blending comedy/drama/thriller so perfectly
9/10, my favorite of the year so far. BONG/SONG duo can't fail |

The water rising in the window split shot with the overhead rafting was so good
My favorite might’ve been them running down the waterfall stairs with all the power lines criss-crossing across the frame, I loved that | |

Saw this on the plane the other day. Really didn’t know a whole lot about it other than it was critically claimed.
It was really good. So many twists and turns especially the second half of the movie. Can’t believe the son survived and the daughter didn’t though. That was pretty sad.
The scene of the maid’s husband creeping up the stairs in the flashback haunted my nightmares. | "So, uh, what are we saying here? If we save LA from a nuclear bomb, then you and I can get together for dinner and a movie?"
