Whew. That was stressful
Really good, I can't fault it for anything. Alex was a really interesting character, what a weird guy. I don't think the doc would've worked as well if he wasn't so uh...different. His poor girlfriend
Some of the shots were insane, especially those great dizzying ones towards the end. The way they did the climb route map and pushed in on his progress really put the size of the cliff into perspective. The final climb was crazy

I gave it a 9/10 just because of this: 9 - amazing/love it
There were some parts (esp at the end) which amazed me. Also, loved the way it was filmed and I kept wondering how they got some of those shots just because they had to be so non-intrusive just for Alex's safety. My favorite people were the camera crew - esp the guy who just couldn't watch during the most stressful parts of the climb. I really still can't even fathom how this can be done, and just the kind of shape he had to be in to even attempt to do this, let alone complete it. | |

I just finished watching it on NatGeo, and I'm still shaking. I'm a rock person (not a climber), and I'm still amazed how anyone can climb that stuff. I really need to get myself to Yosemite! As for the movie, incredibly well shot, the story was always moving forward, the inter-personal tension was always high, and you could easily empathize with the friends who couldn't bear to watch. Absolutely-freaking-insane.
Feat of human strength/courage: 12/10
