It was......OK. I think part of the problem for me with this and Ant-Man 2 is that they're sandwiched in between such huge movies, they feel like bigger letdowns than they probably actually are. Brie Larson was fine, definitely more charismatic than I expected. Fury and the lead Skrull stole the show, and the other characters didn't really do much for me. I've been seeing people say it lagged and there were definitely some slower parts, but I thought it felt a lot shorter than it actually is overall. I'd give it a 6/10.
19/20 feels a bit HARSH cuz it was definitely PASSABLE but at the same time there's really not a ton of difference between the bottom half of that list
one moment that really could've made the movie better was when she learned to fly, but man did they butcher that. I hate the tendency in a lot of blockbusters now to cut away from an exciting moment to quickly catch up on the B and C-plots, instead of just letting the moment BREATHE. Sometimes it works but here they completely deflated what could've been an actual cool/TRIUMPHANT moment if they would've just kept the focus on her and we could see her take off just before she hits the ground
I just saw this today. I liked it. The fact that it was released just before Endgame means Captain Marvel has to be an important part of that film. I kind of liked the break in the current story to go back and tell this one. The Flurken was fun. And being a big fan of Agents of SHIELD, it was cool to see Coulson in a movie again.
