Tomorrow I leave for vacation. As you know, i'm a poor man. So..how should i handle money on this vacation?
The resort we are staying at is paid for, so any money is spent on food, alcohol, and anything we go do.
A - Just splurge and have a good time. Spend whatever you want, and when you come back catchup/borrow/steal so rent still gets paid.
B - Stick to the budget you set a month ago. Use the extra money you saved, no more.
C - Try to stick to the budget first few days, then last couple days blow it out. Do whatever is fun and spend right up until all you have left is rent money.
D - Cancel the trip and just stay home and save the money but don't go to work.
E - Go and stay in Orlando and never come back.
F - Leave gf behind and take _____ instead
I gave 2 votes in case people pick F | Rodney is a great guy. Oops, nevermind he's a terrible human being.
He likes his sandwiches to be Turkey and Swiss. Triangle cut. Let vern have his crust. Poison the part Rodney eats.

I chose C so you have one day to have fun but stick to the budget otherwise. SPLURGE A BIT BUT DON'T GO CRAZY!
And F so you can bring me instead.

B.
I road tripped to New York last year and blew my money so fast that I ended up having negative money in my bank account in INDIANA and couldn't get gas without Mr. C begging my grandfather to wire us money through Western Union. I fucking loved that trip and want to do it again one day but the recovery from that was absolutely awful. I got so behind on my mortgage. It took me months to fully recover from it. |

C: One splurge day!
I'd also say maybe have one PENNY PINCHER day. That's what I do on my vacations. One day of visiting places that are free or very low cost. Sight seeing, more local venues, public parks, hotel pool or smaller local beaches, open markets, hiking, free museums, etc, and stick with cheaper food like hotel breakfast or food carts and small local meals. Then you save a bit more for the splurge day and you get to have seen stuff you probably wouldn't have bothered with if you weren't pinching pennies. | d ( i n o s r o a ) r

Does the resort include food/drinks?
I’d say B. Not sure where you are going but try to maybe look at coupons for the places you want to go if there is anything off the resort. If there is something you really want to do that’s out of budget go for it (assuming it is not too crazy). Not sure if food/drink is included with the resort but if not maybe go to the grocery store and get bread and have sandwhiches for lunch and then still have a nice dinner. Or buy alcohol and drink in the room versus go to the bar.
It’s just about picking and choosing the high priority costs.

B- you budgeted and you should be able to still have a good time on that budget. Nothing is more stressful than getting back from a relaxing vacation and then wondering if the water is gonna get shut off. | How can you have any pudding if you won't eat your meat? |

B. Stick to the budget. Maybe go over a tiny bit. Don't have a stroke worrying about it, but stay pretty close.

in the moment, you may feel like splurging is a good idea, but will you later regret it? Probably, yes.

I voted for C, even though B sounds more optimal if you don't have the money.
Stick to the budget for the majority of the trip, just use a day or two in the end to do something fun while you're there. As long as it's not super over budget.

If money is a big concern with where things are in your life, then go with B and be smart about staying within your budget. There are plenty of ways you can still have a great time without spending a ton of money to do it.
You have to be smart now while things are a little tighter so that one day you can take vacations and really just not worry about the cost.
