wasn't a huge fan of this one. The only scene I remember being an actual standout was the campfire scene between William and his daughter, which I did really like
Maeve's storyline kinda took a faceplant tbh. Not sure what the point of any of the Shogun World stuff was...? I mean I guess they just wanted to give a glimpse of another park but for now it seems like there wasn't any greater purpose to it which is disappointing. Also thought the meet-up with her daughter felt pretty anti-climactic after all that build-up, I thought there'd be way more to it. It was pretty obvious she'd have a new mother so that wasn't surprising. Also not sure why she couldn't just whisper all those Ghost Nation people away?
If Anthony Hopkins actually comes back next episode I'd be giddy. I'd also be surprised though because I thought that they said he really only did voice work for them this season. Wouldn't be the first time they kept something hush hush though.
I also really liked the campfire scene. It's weird seeing that side of the MIB given that was the only time he wasn't just radiating bad-assery. He actually seemed to have a bit of a softer side which was odd (and promptly undercut by leaving his daughter the next morning). The climax of the season is looking like him going out in a blaze of glory which, while it'll be cool, I'm not super looking forward to because it'll mean we probably would have seen the last of Ed Harris and that would be a tragedy.
Given we don't see Elsie in the 2nd Bernard timeline I'm guessing she doesn't make it out or somehow her and Bernard split up between the time we are at now and then and I'm interested to see how that will go? If Bernard meets ford in this new sim thing then I wonder if he's going to come out with the goal of eventually killing Elsie.
Seeing Teddy go crazy-murdery was sad but I guess makes sense from Dolores' perspective. I hope they reward us with something soon from that storyline because it is getting a bit weird. I'm assuming we are going to find out how all the hosts ended up in the lake Ep 1 relatively soon, just hoping they don't save that for the finale.
And yeah the Maeve story-line also took a weird turn. We basically saw her become a god and then leave. I guess they did gain the girl with the dragon tattoo but other than that I'm not sure if we really got to see much character growth outside of her learning that she can control hosts with her mind at times convenient to the plot. I can't imagine they actually let her out of the park with her daughter so have to find out pretty soon how that goes!!!!
Losing MIB would be awful. I can't imagine the show without Ford AND him
I like how 10 years later we're still talking about MIB.
Teddy acknowledging he was tampered with was heartbreaking. I feel like it hit Delores hard and hope that it pays off in the future.
Don't think Maeve's daughter will make it, or even remember the time she was her mother leading to another tragic/revenge storyline on the humans.
William/daughter scene was fantastic, I hope there's more of them, but he's so far gone from the real world I can't see him want to ever go back to it.
Thought the episode was fine. Just fine. Don't really have much to say tbh
Liked the Ford bit, the campfire scene, MiB thinking his daughter was a host and part of the game (an interesting scenario), the stuff involving Lee, and thought the aspect ratio changing in Bernard's whatever was cool
Also the promo for next week was really good
Still finding it hard to care for some of the hosts unfortunately. I really wish we had more humans to root for. I'd have liked part of this season to be about humans struggling to survive while trapped in the park as the hosts rebelled (like the movie. or at least what I remember of it)
I'm thinking that the host brain Bernard picked up and brought to the cradle is Ford and that he's now the "ghost in the machine" so to speak.
The campfire scene had some stand outs.
I did think they'd spend a bit more time in Shogun world to give it more of a point. They did change the Maeve/daughter reunion slightly from what I was expecting: Given that the MIB had just ditched his daughter that morning and then run into Ghost Nation, I thought for sure they were gonna have Maeve take her daughter into the house to escape Ghost Nation warriors only to have the MIB pop in the door like in the past (ending the episode there) so that we'd have to wait and see what happened next week. But they didn't go that direction.
How can you have any pudding if you won't eat your meat?
That would've been so much better (if they could've found a good reason for MIB to be there that is)
I just saw it as him on the run from the Ghost Nation and so he comes to the farmhouse to make a stand, only to find Maeve inside, who of course freaks out on him.
But they didn't go that direction.

word curt, word!
"There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. Some kind of high powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die."
