PRESENTING..........The Alligator River Story

Once upon a time there was a woman named Abigail who was in love with a man named Gregory. Gregory lived on the shore of a river. The river, which separated the two lovers, was teeming with man-eating alligators. Abigail wanted to cross the river to be with Gregory. Unfortunately, the bridge had been washed out. So she went to ask Sinbad, a riverboat captain, to take her across. He said he would be glad to if she would consent to sleep with him preceding the voyage. She promptly refused and went to her mother Elizabeth to explain her plight. Elizabeth did not want to be involved in her daughter's situation at all in the situation and turned her away.

Abigail felt her only alternative was to accept Sinbad's terms. After she slept with him, Sinbad fulfilled his promise to Abigail and delivered her into the arms of Gregory.

When she told Gregory that she had to sleep with Sinbad in order to cross the river and be with him, Gregory cast her aside with disdain. Heartsick and dejected, Abigail turned to Gregory's friend John with her tale of woe. John, feeling compassion for Abigail, sought out Gregory and beat him brutally. Abigail was overjoyed at the sight of Gregory getting his due. As the sun set on the horizon, Abigail laughed at Gregory as her and John ran off together to form a new relationship.

is this one of those stories where it turns out abigail is like 8 years old and sinbad is some creepy child molester so its the mother who is the worst because she let her daughter sleep with an old man

Abigail had a choice to not sleep with the Sinbad. It wasn't something she wanted to do but she saw no other option, after exhausting one other avenue. It's creepy, but it was the payment he requested, and Sinbad kept his word and brought her across the river.

Gregory was understandably upset, but maybe he should have cooled down and then talked about it with her. But he didn't really do anything wrong, aside from not understanding her plight, or trying to cross the river himself.

The mother didn't want to get involved, which is probably where most people would put themselves. I mean, she could have tried to help in some way so her daughter could be happy with the man she loved. But is it the worst behaviour of this group of people? Maybe.

John was nice to pick up the pieces but then he brutally beat Gregory, and Abigail enjoyed it! She must not have really loved the man, as she thought she had.

I haven’t read the story yet but I think I prefer to read this one more

4. Elizabeth - Kind of crappy to ignore her daughters plea but can't really fault her for it I guess.
3. Sinbad - He was just trying to get it in! Not exactly a knight in shining armor but he has a good that Abigail wanted and got paid for it.
