Actually going to check this out this weekend. Looks interesting.
Rodney is a great guy. Oops, nevermind he's a terrible human being.
He likes his sandwiches to be Turkey and Swiss. Triangle cut. Let vern have his crust. Poison the part Rodney eats.

All I'll say before my tag is that you should see it and you should DEFINITELY see it in theaters, not at home

I though it was great. Not as layered as recent horror movie favorites like Get Out of It Follows or Babadook but it knew what it was going for and nailed it. Doesn't feel gimmicky at all
The sound aspect is the real deal. This is one of the most MOVIE THEATER movies I can think of. Every. single. noise. in the theater will bother the shit out of you the entire time. You'll be so conscious of your chewing and your breathing, it's kinda nuts
Some really tense scenes. When her baby floated away and the thing was right over there, and then when it dipped under the water. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
And that nail scene, oof. The opening death was great and set the perfect tone for the movie but the trailers totally spoil it, that really bummed me out. Would've been a great shock otherwise
I'm sure all of us were thinking the same thing throughout the whole movie. "Why the SHIT would you have a baby????"
Everyone was good but Emily Blunt killed it, she's awesome. The daughter annoyed the shiiiiiiiiiiiiit outta me. Stomping her feet around the whole time. I honestly had very little sympathy. Like hey, your dad has been BUILDING YOU a hearing aid, just fucking try it god damnit. I really wish the audience didn't know that he made it himself. I wish the scene right after he died when she finally goes into his workshop and sees all the hearing aid manuals and demos that was the first time the audience realized he made it for her, that would've been a rly poignant moment
I knew from so early on that Krasinski would die in that fashion because of course that scene was gonna end up happening. Sorta wish they went against expectation there somehow but the scene was still really good. Like imagine if it was the dad with the newborn and both kids on one side, the mother alone on the other, and the monster between them. The baby starts crying and the monster starts running at them and the other knows she has to scream to save them and sacrifice herself. MAN OH MAN
The ending was fun, I expected a more cliche ending so this was nice
Great stuff. Krasinski killed it as a director, the movie looked great and he really showed a lot of skill. I hope he sticks in this genre
Our movie was at 6:30 and we went into the theater they told us to at like 6:10. We walk in and it's pitch black and people are already in there and the movie is already like halfway over. I saw one quick frame and realized something was fucked up so we left and realized they printed our ticket totally wrong. More people were coming in behind us so they got everyone's wrong
FLASHFOWARD. I get to the right theater and the movie has 5 minutes left. Two people walk in and sit down and crack open their candy. I quickly realized their ticket was ALSO fucked but they had no idea. They must've just thought they were a few minutes late to the movie but they were literally right in the finale. The movie ended and the credits rolled and they looked around so confused. They saw the LAST FIVE MINUTES. They started frantically checking their phone because they realized there was a big mistake with the ticket/times. Imagine that? I'd be pissed
Just watched. I'll write when i get home. Decided to sneak into pacific rim even though we aren't expecting anything

I'm supposed to go see this Friday with someone but I feel like they will try to talk through the whole movie so I'm considering going at 2 PM to see it today in advance.

Man good luck to them if they try to. I can’t think of a worse movie to talk through, everyone would hear every single word
It's been out a minute dunno if spoilers are needed but..

Really enjoyed this movie. Was well done.
Agree with Curtis the only thing taking away from first scene is if you've watched the trailers, there are only 2 kids in it. So first scene you know what to expect.
But that scene is totally needed to explain the terrible decision to have another kid (in this setting).
Great performances all around. Even the dumb decisions are understandable from that persons point of view.
Fav scene: Any scene where they did thing from the deaf girl's point of view. Just added another layer to the movie.
Least fav: No least fav. Hated the nail scene and the end of the truck scene, but just for the outcomes, not the way they were done.
Fav character: Deaf girl, but really all did well.
Least fav: I guess the monsters lol
I also like little things in the movie, like little snipets of what others in the world are doing, and even the little sign in the basement that tells everyone they are on their own.
This movie is like a 7/8 for me. Good story, good characters, well shot. Enjoyable movie.
