Should an inactive player be replaced?

I voted no because I'm against it unless it's day 1. "only early" is too subjective imo :p
I don't really like it, but gotta say I don't have very good arguments for that. Far in the game it's just meh... someone will have to read the whole thing, meh, the excuses, nothing to base a read on with that replacement, nah.

I'd prefer it if D1 hasn't even ended yet. If someone realizes they shouldn't have bothered signing up and D1 is in process then yeah maybe replace them. But sometimes that person just gets lynched for being inactive anyway
I think it's weird to do it after a night phase because then the replacement has to deal with whatever night actions that person might've put in. And if that person was suspicious but the replacement isn't...it's just a bit awkward

I vote yes because even with the drawbacks for the player replacing, and the rest of the players in the game, I feel like it's better than having someone in the game who is completely inactive and continually being discussed as a lynch candidate strictly because they are inactive.

Easy fix: just add a rule that if you go inactive for three straight phases (ex. D-N-D) without a legit excuse, you get modkilled.
Might get some of the serial slackers to not sign up.

I agree. I did it after N1 ended in a game but I think that was a bit too late. The replacement wasn't told what the previous player's night action was so it was a little awkward, but it actually worked out okay. And resulted in a very fun cult team while it lasted. ;)
But still, I'd go with only if D1 isn't over so people are aware before going into the night phase.

As a mod, there are only two types of people I can't stand.
1. Those who sign up and never participate.
2. Those who actively try to get modkilled.
Both of those people are basically giving a great big FU to the mod, for all the time and effort they put into coming up with the game. Those people should be subject to a sort of X-game ban or something.

That's not a bad idea. Also, if someone continues to do this just don't let them sign up.

I've always been partial to letting a dead tonwie take an inactive role if possible. But any replacement is better then no posts. |

I think a dead townie coming back in to replace someone is the dumbest thing

For an inactive town role? Completely disagree with you here, Curtis.

Day one Lynchee should be able to replace an inactive if his role and knowledge of the game does not adversely affect the game. I.e., a lynched Mafia member no, a lynched townie yes depending on role | SFWordsmith.com
