Finch is on the phone

“Mr. Reese it seems Ms. Shaw needs your help.”
“And what will you do if we get a new number well i'm out helping her, Harold?”
“Let us hope it doesn't come to that.”

Shaw is pinned down by gunfire when Reese arrives

“Looks like Finch was right, you do need my help.”
“I have this under control Reese”

Shots spark off the car Shaw is using as cover

“I don't think so. How many are out there?”
“Two left, i took one out already”

A Rifle goes off

“Make that one Shaw”
“I trust things are under control, Mr. Reese” says Finch
“They will be in a minute, Harold”

“Reese cover me” Shouts Shaw”

Reese empties a clip in the direction of the opposing fire, well Shaw runs across the killing field. Shaw comes up behind the bad guy and takes him out

“Thanks for the assist Reese, were done here”

A thug who had appeared to be lifeless on the ground behind Shaw wakes up and fires at her. Shaw returns fire killing him

“Shaw are you ok?”

“Yeah Reese. I told you I had this under control.”

“Shaw!”

Reese runs over to Shaw but it's too late.

Sameen Shaw, Town Doctor is dead.

A payphone in the park rings and Finch picks it up. He starts to write down the number but stops suddenly. He knows this number, and he knows Reese is too far away to get to her in time. Finch limps away as fast as he can.

Fusco is standing outside a brownstone covered in crime scene tape when Finch arrives

“Detective what has happened here.”

Fusco walks Finch away from the crowd

“What are you doing here?”
“I know the woman who lives in that apartment, please tell me she's all right”
“I only got here a minute before you did. Carter is inside right now.”
“We have to get in there and help”
“And how am i supposed to explain what your doing there?”

Dejected, Finch takes a seat and waits. It's been the longest five minutes of his life when Carter comes out.

“Carter, over here” shouts Fusco
“What's he doing here?” Carter asks Fusco
“Says he knows the lady who lives here”
“Finch im afraid i have some bad news”

So with Vic's flip it says the recruitment would fail if he targeted scum, but didn't mention anything about masons or getting attacked if he targeted scum. Makes me think Lamps is in fact Mason since Angi voucned for him, and Vic was also attacked. Thoughts?

Mafia was blocked I think because if he recruited wrong and was attacked he only had 1 attack protection

I had thought that all up and just looked back and realized I totally missread his role.

So the question is would a recruit on masons count as an attack on Vic?

Honestly, I'm not sure we can read much into Lamps from Vic's flip.

1. Vic could have tried to recruit Lamps and failed because Lamps is scum.
2. Vic could have tried to recruit Lamps and failed because [insert other reason here - caused by other players (i.e. roleblock/redirect/etc)]
3. Vic could have tried to recruit Lamps and failed because Lamps is a Mason and Mason's can't be recruited (hidden text?)
4. Vic could have been caught scum, and gave out Lamps' name to try to redirect the lynch to a new target.

I'd guess it's some combination of #3 and #4, because if Lamps is scum, then Angi has to be scum with how strong she came out in the defense of the Mason claim.

I'm still very confused about the whole Lamps thing. Why would his recruitment fail? If he couldn't recruit masons would it say something in his role flip or would the mods have left that out so as not to give away the fact that there's a mason group?

I think lamps and Angi are masons because I don't see Angi as making that move if they're scum together.

That being said, we could go on forever theorizing on whether or not a recruit on masons would work, or if it would attack Vic just like a recruit on scum..

If this is the case, I hope the mods left it out on purpose, because mod confirming things is annoying.

Think of it like this. If a mason recruits cult they die. It works both ways. I think Lamps is mason at this point and Vic failed his recruitment

Just to be clear, I don't think we should lynch Lamps today. If people think this is a gate-gate situation, it's more like a baby-gate.
