Not sure if there's a topic about this but I'll start one!

Who is thinking about or has gone to grad school? PHD, MA, MS, JD, MD, etc?

My undergrad is in soc which means I almost have to go to grad school for something. For a long time I was thinking soc phd but now I'm exploring other options.

discuss!

I am thinking about it, but for the time being I need to pay back some student loans. I almost certainly need to go as well in order to do something worthwhile since my degree was in English and American Studies. English is not going to do shit for me, but American Studies, I took courses in law, music, film, history, so it has a pretty wide scope of things I can do, so I'm not limited.

Focus right now is getting a job to pay back/save up though. Grad school is $$$.

I feel like I will go to grad school because it just seems beneficial, but I'm taking time off and wanting to make sure I know what I want to do before I throw all that money down on it.

Likely will be going to seminary though. Still up for debate though.

I'm planning on going to law school for a JD. I'm currently trying to double major in psychology and international politics, so it's either law school or go to grad school for one of those two fields. I sometimes think about going to grad school for psychology, but I think I would prefer working as a lawyer more than working as a counselor or in a lab with animals.

Will you be father bryce someday?

And btw I had an english professor try to talk me in to going to grad school when i was a senior and I'm soooo glad i didn't waste the extra time and money. Just the fact that you have a college degree show's employers that youre intelligent and you can finish what you start.

I know a girl here where i live that has a philosophy degree which is basically worthless, she got hired in as a temp admin assistant, worked at her job for a year, got hired in full time to the company and now shes knocking down 80k and is only 24.

Meanwhile, i have a friend that got his MBA with a 3.9 GPA and spent 2 1/2 years living on my couch looking for a job.

So do what you gotta do.

That is basically what the state of jobs is today. Kind of annoying to spend so much money when all you really just need is a good work ethic and be willing to learn (and for someone to give you a chance)

My mom saw a job ad for a technical librarian and how it pays 60k a year and she's like "I guess you do need to go to grad school" and I was like "I've explained this before..."

Most degrees not related to STEM isn't worth investing.
