Harry Potter Land in Florida was really cool. That's the only thing I have to base off this question. Never seen any of the movies for either series and never read any of the books and don't know anything about either of them!

Hmmm that's tough but I think LOTR wins for me. Both books and movies (read and watched all). | Domo Arigato Paco Roboto

I never read either book. There was this girl that absolutely everyone hated in like 4th/5th grade that was obsessed with Harry Potter books and always talked about how Snape was her friend and lived in her closet. I think she kind of caused everyone to hate the concept of the books, I dunno. Man that chick was fucking weird.
I watched the first movie when it first came out on HBO. Fell asleep during it, admittedly cause I was more tired than bored. But I never really had any desire to go back and watch it.
I kind of marathoned the Lord of the Rings trilogy with someone who begged me to after never thinking I would like it. I loved it though. |

I guess LOTR. I'd love to get drunk with dwarves.
But then Hagrid was basically a....giant dwarf I could get drunk with.

I have much more exposure to Harry Potter--I read all the books growing up, and I've seen all the movies multiple times, whereas with LotR I've only see Fellowship more than once, the other two movies once each, and never read the books. I just like the feel of the Harry Potter movies, especially 3 and 4. They're nice movies to just lay in bed and get cozy with.
That being said, I did like the one Lord of the Rings video game for the PS2 I had. I want to say it was The Two Towers. | Nintendo Network ID: EctoCooler47 |

Admittedly I've never read any of the HP books and I've only seen bits and pieces of the movies. BUT! From what I've seen it's LOTR by a couple miles

I've spent lots more time at Hogwart's but still almost think LotR would have to win this one. I'm torn though. | A lesson without pain is meaningless. That's because no one can gain without sacrificing something. But by enduring that pain and overcoming it, he shall obtain a powerful, unmatched heart. A fullmetal heart. |

I think Tolkien was a really shitty writer and I could never get through anything he wrote despite trying multiple times. I do think the movies were great and the story from start to finish in those had me captivated. Rowling ain't a great writer either, but I've read through the Harry Potter series like 3 times. The movies for those weren't great IMO. I gave up after Goblet of Fire. I ended voting for Harry Potter for two reasons:
1. I put a lot of weight in how much I enjoyed the original source material.
2. Emma Watson | |
