This game will probably not be balanced and I don't care who wins either way. Whether it lasts two days or eight, is active or inactive, it's all whatever. Maybe you'll have fun, maybe you won't. You should listen to this next part because it's important. Or don't:

Each of you will be assigned a role, referred to as an Action in most write ups. Your Action is your standard Mafia role. Your Action describes how you process your emotions.

Each of you will also be assigned an Emotion, privately. Emotions are different. There are ten of them. Joy, Anxiety, Anger, Sadness, Embarrassment, Fear, Ennui, Disgust, Envy, and Nostalgia. Each Emotion has its own use. Many are modifiers that can be applied to your Action. Every day, I will randomize Emotions to all living players (again, privately). If you die, your Emotion is removed from the randomization pool and will publicly flip. Your Emotion is your own throughout the Day phase and following Night phase. It will change at the start of the next Day (unless it randomizes to you again).

You may want to read Rule #7 in the rule thread. For the first three days, you may publicly swap an Emotion with another player by both posting ##Swap Emotion with (Name). You can ##Unswap before the second player locks it in. Once both players have locked it in, the Emotions immediately swap. You may lie about what Emotion you have. Only X pairs of players can swap an Emotion during a single Day phase. If you've already swapped once, you CAN still swap again. On Day 1, three pairs can trade. One Day 2, two pairs can trade. On Day 3, one pair can trade. After that, no one can trade.

If you want, you can play up your emotion 'in character' in the Day threads. As the game progresses, you will learn what other Emotions do from either receiving them yourself, or from someone else claiming them (you can claim your current Emotion or your Role/Action whenever you'd like). People can of course lie about what their Emotion does, but again, someone else will receive that Emotion the next day. You can even play up an Emotion that you don't have to confuse each other. Do it, or don't, it doesn't matter to me. I'm certainly not going to waste my time playing up Apathy.

Oh and one more thing. Maybe some Emotion and Action combinations will be weird. Maybe they will break the game. Maybe it'll be fine. I don't know. I came up with them on a post-it note. Complaints and compliments can both go in the shredder either way.
