I’ve been spoiled no less than 40 times on this one in the last 48 hours

didn't find any of it too shocking, just some good/brutal dragon action. They did a p good job imbuing some personality into the dragons cuz it felt p bad seeing both of them die
If that really is a wrap for Aegon that's a huge shame, he really came into his own this season. Aemond is a cool enough villain but feels much more one-dimensional
Rhaenys going out was kinda whatever, I've been over her. I feel like the show was trying to portray her as this wise ~robbed queen~ when everything they actually showed was anything but. Including here! Instead of cutting her losses after the KING AND HIS DRAGON get taken out (so already a huge victory for the Blacks) she consciously decides to take on a lopsided fight that's essentially a suicide mission

I'm not really sure what they're building up to with Daemon. Second week in a row of him just tripping in Harrenhal

Not the 10/10 that people are hyping it up to be but a strong HotD episode either way. Hard to say how I would've felt if I wasn't spoiled, surely would've enjoyed it more. Agreed about Rhaenys leaving the show. Honestly I don't remember everyyyyyyyyything from s1, but I especially forget what Rhaenys was like and what her whole deal was. She was cool, actress was cool, but I feel like losing her doesn't change much of anything unfortunately
Also agreed re: dragon personalities. Came across well in their fighting styles, I thought that was well done. It must be an all-time sad feeling to watch your dragon look back at you thinking that it failed you as it died. ROUGH! I'll never remember their names, but Aemond's big boi is such a menace. The shots of it first appearing were pretty sweet. Some dodgy CGI throughout the battle I thought, but still a great sequence. I would've loved it if they expanded the battle throughout 80% of the episode and crammed more story into the battle to fill the time. GoT really nailed the battle episodes..more often than not! I was glad to see another well done one

Vhagar! She was one of the OG Aegon's dragons
also yeah, a full length battle ep would be great. Probably harder budget-wise now cuz of all the CGI dragons, but they could just Blackwater it and show a bunch of ground level stuff. Maybe we'll get one whenever Harrenhal gets attacked?
