remake series with Donald Glover. Same premise as the Pitt/Jolie movie but VERY different tone! Through the first 3 eps and I'm enjoying it enough, a biiit reminiscent of early Atlanta where I haven't really laughed at much of it but it's entertaining enough to keep watching
I'd never seen the movie before and I watched it a few days ago to 'prepare' and I'm glad I did cuz
|
that opening scene hit way better that way, definitely seems like they cast Skarsgaard/Gonzalez cuz they looked roughly like Pitt/Jolie and they could give them the 'realistic ending' for that movie |
movie itself was about exactly what I expected tho (p bad but p fun)

I hope these missions are building up to some reveal tho cuz right now they make absolutely no sense if held up to any scrutiny. Which is fine in something over-the-top like the movie but this definitely goes for more of a grounded feel and the apparent plot inconsistencies...do not match up with that! |

dun already. This was great! (as long as you don't think too hard about the action scenes/missions and mostly focus on the relationship drama, which is the heart of the show anyway)
|
therapist ep was my favorite I think, probably had the biggest laughs AND the biggest dramatic scene of the show with the big fight at the campsite. That was really well done
only weird thing is how they didn't make a big deal at all about getting their second strike on that mission |
I had no idea there were actual FANS of the movie, the user reviews are NOT too friendly for this one! But I'm glad they stuck to their guns and did something original with it

Watched the first episode. Was pretty fun. I’m a sucker for anything Donald Glover so I’ll definitely continue watching.

I jumped so high when the house exploded. |
| "So, uh, what are we saying here? If we save LA from a nuclear bomb, then you and I can get together for dinner and a movie?"

6 episodes in! I agree with Boc, as long as you are looking at it from a silly action, relationship building show it is really good. The chemistry between the two leads is incredible. | "So, uh, what are we saying here? If we save LA from a nuclear bomb, then you and I can get together for dinner and a movie?"

Finished! Fun last couple episodes.
|
I agree that the therapist was probably my favorite. That or the Ski Trip. Good closing episode though I feel like they should have figured out it wasn’t the other trying to kill them earlier on.
The truth serum part drug on a little bit but was good. The sneezing call back was good. Paul Dani’s character was funny.
Wonder what they’ll do if they do a season 2. I feel like they pretty much confirmed she died but this show is out there enough that I guess something else could have happened. Maybe a new pair? Get in to the mystery more? |

I feel like the ending was meant to be ambiguous, if they get picked up for S2 they'll prob reveal how she survived, if not it'll forever remain a mystery |
