Boy that was a lot to take in. I loved a lot of the elements here but there were just some missing pieces that made this fall short of masterpiece territory. Gladstone was great with what she was given but I can't help but feel that that character could've been fleshed out a lot more, could've definitely done with more scenes of her apart from Ernest. Kinda crazy to think that could be said about one of the principal characters in a 3.5 hr movie, but ya
It was great seeing De Niro actually trying here! Honestly a powerhouse performance, I feel like this was his best work since the '90s.
I was surprised how brief the FBI investigation was in comparison to the rest of the movie, but in a way it was sort of fitting that it was such an open-and-shut case despite how painfully long it took to get any federal help in the first place
