I started getting into gardening during the pandemic and i'm not feeling as into it this year but i'm going to be planting some stuff probably after the 1st. I gotta clear out my garden boxes and prep a new garden for planting. I need to go through my seed packets and see what I'll be planting this year. Hoping to grow some beans this year but not sure what else yet
Last year most of my stuff failed, but we had a lot of tomatoes, a few small potatoes, some beets, some tiny carrots, and a few small pumpkins. Had a nice herb garden going too but most of them didnt survive the winter
I also inherited a few houseplants when my grandma died and have a few others that i've been gifted since then | d ( i n o s r o a ) r

For houseplants, I have a cactus.
I don't have to water it that often.

i have 3 tulsi (basil) plants in my balcony, they're moreso my mom's plants but when she's not in town i water them.
protip: soak clementine peels in water and use that water the next day for watering, it rejuvenates the plants. ive brought them back from the brink of death like thrice

I've been at this house for almost 5 years and have done almost nothing landscaping-wise but fortunately the previous owners laid a good foundation. I got a LITTLE better with it last summer with at least getting weeds under control but I wanna make a concerted effort to actually improve things this year. We'll see!
if I end up planting anything new I wanna add more ferns cuz I like the way they sprout up like lil alien eggs in the spring

Houseplants are tough with Goblin, she’s very interested in them (and can always get to them) and so many are toxic for cats. I’m plantless atm but could see myself getting into gardening when I buy a house

I installed 3 raised beds in my backyard 3 years ago, 4’ by 8’,
I grow tomatoes, bell peppers, zucchini, yellow squash and Okra every year. I have also grown watermelon and cantaloupe with varied success to go along with those others. I rotate them every year from one bed to another. I grow everything from seeds except the tomatoes, which i usually only plant 4-6 so buying them is no big deal. Love eating tomatoes right off the vine.
I also grow a lot of different flowers from seeds every year. French Marigolds are a staple, they help with warding off garden insects and they are super easy to grow and maintain. I grow Rudbeckia (Black Eyed Susans) every year as well. I’ve grown Dahlias, Zinias, Blanket Flowers and a variety of Lilies over the last few years, with varied success. I set them out on my back deck that I have like 12 large self made planters on. I’ve also grown Mandevilla which I love as it’s a running bloomer, but it’s more a tropical plant. This year I’m trying Cosmos and Gazanias from seed. So Far so good, as the seedlings are about 2 inches high right now.
My favorites tho are Gerbera Daisies and Day lilies. The Gerberas can be houseplants and I’ve propagated several from seeds I”ve grown and had good luck with them as they can be difficult. Day lilies are just hard to beat. I have several Hostas also, I prefer the variegated. And Red Hot Pokers. My favorite ground cover is without doubt Japanese ferns. Which I currently have none but will fix that soon.
I”ve been contemplating getting some blueberry bushes as I like to make homemade wine and would love to grow my own blueberries.
But yeah I love growing just about anything.

I have no houseplants because the cats would eat them all. We do have a vegetable garden. I also plant a lot of flowers, some annuals but I've tried to buy mostly perennials. The local garden club does a plant sale and it's been a great way to add variety. My plan was to keep the landscaping simple so it would be easier to maintain but every year it has gotten more over the top so I've given up on that idea. This year I added 20 trees, mostly fruit trees so hopefully they do well. | A lesson without pain is meaningless. That's because no one can gain without sacrificing something. But by enduring that pain and overcoming it, he shall obtain a powerful, unmatched heart. A fullmetal heart. |

Right now we have some kind of an apple tree that started popping up too close to the house. We can tell it's apple but whether it's a domesticated one or some kind of crabapple is hard to say. It got moved into the back and seems to have taken to the move well, so we'll see if it produces anything in like 5 or 6 years. It's neat to see it start to take off even if it doesn't end up making anything too edible | d ( i n o s r o a ) r

I do raised beds. Mainly tomatoes and peppers so I can make fresh salsa.
Plan to go bigger next year and do some canning.
