Come one come all!

This is something we've talked about doing here for awhile now - an ongoing West Marches style dnd game. DON'T PANIC, KEEP READING! It'll be fun

I threw the idea out on Rustic's discord (a group of folks from ORGs with a lot of overlapping members with FE) and someone latched onto it so we're gonna try to get it going

In short, the idea is that this would be an ongoing Dungeons and Dragons game with a rotating group of DM's (hosts) and players. If someone wants to host one night, they toss out a date and time and anyone available can sign up to hop in and play as whatever character they've created. The sessions would be one shot style which means they're a standalone story and you won't have to know what happens in other people's sessions

That doesn't mean you're for sure signed up and locked in or anything, it's just a general interest check to see if this is even worth getting off the ground, but so far there's a good amount of interest

I'd love to get us more involved in dnd here and I think this'll be a great way to get going. Also it'd be swell to branch out with other people, don't be shy! If we get enough of us involved them each group on any given night should be a good little mix of Rustic/FE folks

My broad strokes idea is that our characters set up a small settlement and as the game goes on we build the settlement into a village-town-city. There can be projects around the town that can be upgraded as we go, like each project can have a certain number of gold assigned to it before it's completed. Any character who wants to contribute gold that they earned after a nightly session can throw it towards upgrading

Our characters can also have roles within the town, like if you collect magic items throughout your sessions you can set up your own magic item shop etc. Could be fun!

And as the town grows, the surrounding areas will be collaboratively fleshed out too. Any locations or landmarks that are visited by a group on a night can be marked down on the map and we can grow the whole place together

This is all supposed to be as collaborative as we wanna make it and allow for people to be very involved or just show up and play a session every now and then, whatever each individual wants to do

18 responses so far, gr8 turnout and more than enough to get this off the ground. Remember that this is just an interest check and not a sign up sheet, but the more who fill this out and let us know they’re interested the better. Anyone can still drop in and out as it starts though

We'll be opening the game's Discord up and figuring out availability for a Session 0 soon! If you're interested and want to be included in that, there's still some time to apply.
