This thread will be for official sign ups. I'm gonna aim to start next Monday, so sign ups will be up throughout the week. Sometime after signing up, you'll each need to PM me your character choice. Everyone will be writing their segments from the POV of a made up character. Make sure you like your character, because you'll be stuck with them for as long as you're kept alive in the story.

Sometime this week, please PM me the name of your character with a brief description of them. You must also send me a photo of what you imagine your character looks like. No cartoons or animals plz, and no existing characters from anything. Feel free to also send other details, like age, job, backstory, etc.

If there are characters that are just way too similar, I'll tell one of you and ask you to change it. A variety is best. Also if you can't think of a character, let me know and I'll help you come up with one, or I'll send you a premade character.

After I get all the characters and sign ups close, you'll all create a new account on FE for your character. I'll put them all in special member groups and only allow them to post inside of the subforum where we'll be doing all of this. I'll also make them not show up anywhere on the board, so no one can tell who is who based on who is online at the time and such.

Keep in mind, one character will be chosen as the killer

Some more plot details so you can work out your character choice:

The story will start at a small New England coastal town. All the characters were sent a letter from someone claiming to know them (the killer), and lures them to their mansion for a LAVISH WEEKEND. For whatever motive (up to you), your character was compelled to respond to the invitation and arrives to the ferry to start out the story. The ferry takes us all across to the island, and at the top of the island is a mansion. There are no other residents on the island.

So you have full creative freedom over where your character is from and all that. You don't even need to explain what your specific letter said if you don't want. Whatever lured you there is your secret. Remember that we're all gonna be fairly sketchy or shady at some point or another. Makes it much more fun to confuse your fellow writers and make yourself look suspicious

One more thing we should discuss before characters start coming in

Do we want this to be semi-serious, or completely zany and ridiculous? People would probably like to know that before coming up with characters. I have no idea how the tone will be until everyone starts writing and we all start getting on the same page, to keep it from being uneven

Though, like in Lab 3, some characters were over the top and goofy, while others were pretty serious. They all still felt like they could still fit in the same story. That might be the best way to go about it, just creating whatever you want and writing serious, funny, or a mix

Yeah I don't think anyone should be restricted. As long as they're not TOO over-the-top I think funny characters would be good

Yeah whenever I try to write a funny character I completely fail so serious is the way I generally go, however I love reading people who are actually good at writing zany characters so I'm all for the mix.

I'm not in for this but I'll very much enjoy reading!
