first ep was aight. It pretty much just feels like another season of Mando which isn't exactly INSPIRED but also not a bad formula to copy. Didn't realize Favreau was showrunning this one too
Goransson nails the theme for this one too. As much as I love Giacchino's work in other things, Goransson has done a way better job stepping out of John Williams' shadow with his Star Wars themes

ep 2 was solid as well, maybe a bit better than the first. I like the mayor character and his crony
|
was DISAPPOINTED with the CGI Hutts. With so much of this show being practical I wish they could've went back to ROTJ style puppets for them, but I'm guessing those are more challenging than other creatures due to their sheer size |
don't like that they're making Boba more sympathetic in this but there's still a fair amount they haven't revealed about him so maybe that'll change? Right now he's like on the same anti-hero level as Mando tho

I feel like a grump watching this. I'd rather be watching a show starring the Wookie from this episode than this neutered version of Boba Fett who seems without vice. I'm not enjoying Boba Fett being the good guy of the story. If he had been villainous for even 20% of his interactions with people maybe him getting a pet monster to love and to ride could be interesting.
Why didn't they just make Ming-Na Wen's character "good" in comparison to Boba Fett and have her counsel be what has him reluctantly making some of these wildly positive good guy moves. If we didn't know this guy was trying to be a crime boss I'd be hard pressed to see where the moral ambiguity and greyness of this character is.
My fav character has been the Mayor's lackey. |

The episodes feel way too short so far. I'm only on episode 3 so far, but so far so good. |

Finally started. Just finished ep 1 and I disliked it quite a bit
|
The vibe was wayyyy off for me. And it felt too modern. The theme is cool but then they kept doing his hoinky doinky DOINKA DOINKA goofy music?? What was that lol. And weird attempts at levity with the awful dialogue, especially in the throne room. It was so off-putting
Also the action was horribly directed. The fight against that sand monster was fine but the ambush by the shielded guys and the parkour chase after looked really bad, the choreography during the shield fight was awful, there were shots that showed the two couldve easily broken out of the circle but they just stood there and took it. They had the same shot of whats her name getting dramatically stunned over and over. Far from the cool Boba intro fight scene vs Stormtroopers in Mando s2
I'm still gonna watch it but yikes, clear to see why no one really cared about it and why it came and went fast |
