im317 watched the goings-on with mild interest. They weren't particularly certain what was happening - it seemed that everybody was getting very loud and screaming about things. im317's second-grade teacher had taught the class that screaming was bad, and that good kids should use their inside voices when they needed to talk about things. It seemed pretty silly that these adults didn't know about the inside voice rule.

im317 grew bored, as children are wont to do, and wandered aimlessly away from all of the commotion. They sat down, and amused themselves by closely inspecting their fingernails. In fact, they became so engrossed in this task that they didn't notice the approaching figure until it was right above them.

"Hello!" said im317 brightly. "Would you like to play?"

The figure hesitated, but only for a second. Then they whipped out a syringe, and jammed it into the child's neck.

im317 convulsed briefly, then was still.

The figure knelt, and took a pulse. Nothing. im317 was dead.

"Oh, sh**!" screamed the figure, in a quiet, secretive sort of way. They had only been intending to sedate the child, and bring them in for closer examination. They hadn't meant to murder them.

Feeling deeply ashamed, the CDC agent shoved the tiny body into the shadows of the stairwell, and went away, shaking their head solemnly. That was it, they decided. No more killing.

To clarify what could a potential issue: When I sent the roles out, I accidentally said that whoever killed im317 would become a Vanilla Townie. What I meant was that they would effectually lose the active component of their role, and become just a formless number on whatever side they were actually on. The role was not intended to cause an alignment shift, for the obvious reason that the Vanilla'd player could simply just out the other mafia and the game would end about as dramalessly as is logistically possible.

oh well....a naive cop and a "useless" child. two down but not so bad if you think about it really. they could have taken down/hurt even more innocents in the prcoess. vernon with his scan results and shit, people buying into that. or 137 with either a vote on him or an attack at night, ruining a useful role. a town vigilante or jack of all trades might be pretty pissed right now

Considering there was only a single kill last night I'm betting it was a mafia strike, not a town vig or jack, because... why? It would make almost no sense for them to randomly decide to use their power on im317... and if they did they deserve to be depowered tbh!
