Hey everyone! Before I kick off the results just wanted to say how fun this was to host! It was definitely a pain at times- I'm confident most or all of you felt the same way towards me at one point or another- but this was a fun little experiment that I hope everyone enjoyed :D You all can look back on your fond memories traversing the world with not just your partner, but each other. I looked back at the Leg 1 kickoff thread and couldn't believe that it was almost five weeks ago! Time flies, hopefully everyone has enjoyed themselves whether you were first out, a finalist, or even a viewer (hi Rodney and Christian). We've got an action-packed finale that will leave you on the edge of your seat. I know I was on the edge just from tallying it all!

With that said, let's pick things up in Manila...

Teams were ready to leave the LUSH (have I used that word enough?) Philippian capital of Manila to the great Pacific Northwest and Seattle, Washington! All teams got to the airport within 30 minutes of each other and the first looming question of the finale would be: is everyone on the same flight? Normally production forces the finalists to all be together but there was no such overt restriction here! Did anyone manage to sneak away from the other two teams??

Nope! We are all on the same flight, scheduled to land in Seattle at 11am on March 30th. See you back in the states!

Upon arrival, teams were tasked with using Public transportation to get from SeaTac airport to downtown and the infamous Space Needle. TiB/Vern and Nick/Pat quickly found the airport stop on the Link Light Rail and were heading downtown.

Meanwhile, Jake & Dylan were seemingly in a daze from their long trans-Pacific flight as they raced teams to the TAXI line, which is definitely not public transportation.

Jake: "Woah, is everyone slow? Why didn't the other teams get here too."
Dylan: "Beats me. Boomer Sooner!"

Jake/Dyl raced ahead in their speedy, non-sanctioned transportation to the Space Needle while the two other teams ended up being in a bit of a traffic delay due to them picking the same exact route.

Jake & Dyl, who were at this point very confused as to why they were the only team around, started on their Space Needle challenge! Teams had to navigate a virtual helicopter as long as possible before crashing, and based on their ability to perform that navigation, they would have various helicopter flight times to their next destination!

Knowing that perhaps they made a mistake and were about to be penalized at the FINISH LINE of all places, Jake & Dyl performed admirably at the challenge and received the lowest flight time of 15 minutes. Once Vern/TiB and Nick/Pat showed up, they were both a bit frazzled as to how Jake/Dyl were so far ahead. It led to them having the second and worst scores on the helicopter challenge, respectively.

Teams were dropped off at the Yakama Indian Reservation where they were tasked with their final detour of the season! Jake & Dyl must have been hungry because they chose the meat detour while Vern/Tib and Nick/Gregg were looking conjoined at the waist once again, going with the animal quiz!

Once again Jake & Dyl performed the best at the challenge, and they ended up completing their detour (incl. penalties) in 28 minutes! Gregg Pat and Nick Hat were a shade less proficient in the animal quiz with a detour time of 30 minutes. Unfortunately, poor Vern and TiB were too used to the city life and were not one with the bow & arrow. Their challenge took 50 minutes to complete.

Upon completion of the detour, teams hopped back in their choppers to be flown (in an equal amount of time) to their next destination!

Teams landed back in Seattle and ran over to the Japanese Garden! They would play a memory-based matching game to receive their next clue. There was not much variability with these results, as the two trailing teams completed it in 16 minutes while our leaders Jake/Dyl completed it in 17 minutes. That one minute may not seem like much, but anything can happen on the race!

2. Vern/TiB (73 min off first)

All teams used a taxi to venture across town to T-Mobile park, home of the MLB Seattle Mariners! It's here where teams are faced with their final roadblock: a trivia challenge asking 22 questions about their experiences on the race! It was evident from the start that teams took copious notes. Given that the RB assignment was pre-determined due to the race rules on equal RB counts, I was very pleased to see how much effort people seemed to have put in to studying and memorizing.

Ultimately Gregg Pat proved to be the wisest of the bunch completing the quiz in 23 minutes! Dylan was shortly past that at 24 minutes, and then Vern couldn't pull out the magic rabbit one final time scoring last in the quiz with 33 minutes.

Teams now knew the location of that maaaaaagical finish line they've been dreaming five weeks about: Discovery Park!

Jake & Dyl, nearly an hour ahead of second place, emptied their wallets to bribe their cabbie to take the quickest route. Swerving through stop signs and speeding through red lights, their cabbie risking his fucking driver's license to get them to the park asap!

They pull up to the park gates and start running!

Their fallen comrades along the way having all sorts of emotions seeing the team who is arriving first!

TT & Stargate, not particularly pleased to see the team whose U-turn prompted their own, but game respects game and they ultimately shrugged it off to clap again

*Jake & Dyl sprint onto the mat, embracing themselves after seeing nobody else beside Philly boy on the mat*

Phil: "Jake & Dyl, you are the first team to arrive."

"YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS we did it!", they scream in unison.

Phil: "Well don't celebrate just quite yet boys. I'm told you took a taxi to the Space needle when the clue clearly states public transportation. Is that correct?"

Dylan: "Uhhhhh we used an uber pool. does that count?"

Phil: "Nope not at all. Unfortunately, in an UNPRECENDENT race during UNPRECENDENTED times, we add to even more UNPRECEDENTNESS with our first ever finish line penalty. How much time will you have to wait?
