You bury your daggar into the heart of the final gnoll and survey the scene. Blood, carnage, and destruction up and down the dirt road and well into the surrounding woods. You group up with your party, assess your wounds, and thank the Gods that everyone escaped the skirmish intact.
Akmong nervously stands atop the cart. You turn your head upwards towards him as he begins to speak.
"Everyone seems to be mostly unharmed...good, that's good." he says as he trails off a bit. "We should make camp here for the night. I'm sure we can all use a long rest after that, I know I can."
Akmong reaches a trembling hand out towards his crow and roughly and awkwardly pats it on the head.
"We leave at first light! Lets get a ways off this road and into the woods."
Main Quest #1: First Watch
You and your party decide to sleep in shifts. Each of you must choose a different option from your party members and choose when to take watch.
A. First Watch
B. Second Watch
C. Final Watch
Main Quest #2: What Was That?
A twig snaps deeper within the woods. Do you dare interrupt your rest to investigate? Choose individually.
A. Ignore it and continue on with your long rest. If you choose this, you will end the night with full health.
B. Sneak over to it and check it out from some bushes.
C. Charge at it, full speed ahead.
D. Climb a nearby tree, see if you can spot anything.
E. Toss a torch in that direction to try to flush it out.
Side Quest #1: Background
As you doze off, you think about how you got here. Choose a background that you think fits your character the best from the following list
|
Acolyte
You have spent your life in the service of a temple to a specific god or pantheon of gods. You act as an intermediary between the realm of the holy and the mortal world, performing sacred rites and offering sacrifices in order to conduct worshipers into the presence of the divine. You are not necessarily a cleric—performing sacred rites is not the same thing as channeling divine power.
Criminal
You are an experienced criminal with a history of breaking the law. You have spent a lot of time among other criminals and still have contacts within the criminal underworld. You’re far closer than most people to the world of murder, theft, and violence that pervades the underbelly of civilization, and you have survived up to this point by flouting the rules and regulations of society.
Folk Hero
You come from a humble social rank, but you are destined for so much more. Already the people of your home village regard you as their champion, and your destiny calls you to stand against the tyrants and monsters that threaten the common folk everywhere.
Noble
You understand wealth, power, and privilege. You carry a noble title, and your family owns land, collects taxes, and wields significant political influence. You might be a pampered aristocrat unfamiliar with work or discomfort, a former merchant just elevated to the nobility, or a disinherited scoundrel with a disproportionate sense of entitlement. Or you could be an honest, hard-working landowner who cares deeply about the people who live and work on your land, keenly aware of your responsibility to them.
Sage
You spent years learning the lore of the multiverse. You scoured manuscripts, studied scrolls, and listened to the greatest experts on the subjects that interest you. Your efforts have made you a master in your fields of study.
Soldier
War has been your life for as long as you care to remember. You trained as a youth, studied the use of weapons and armor, learned basic survival techniques, including how to stay alive on the battlefield. You might have been part of a standing national army or a mercenary company, or perhaps a member of a local militia who rose to prominence during a recent war. |
Bonus Quest #1: Campfire Stories
The group at large decide to get a fire going. You spend the night huddled around it for warmth and light, sharing your past adventures and tales with rival party members.
For an additional ten gold pieces, tell a story about your past to the group. Must be a few sentences at minimum.
Deadline is 7 pm EST. | |

##bonus quest 1
I’ve got a good tale. From when I first started in the alliance. As I’m sure you know we welcome anyone and everyone with open arms, all our welcome to learn our ways and we try to seek out those who need help. Well a fortnight or two into my training we were out gathering when we came upon a weary turtle folk. His shell was nearly torn off, and as I’m sure as you know healing is very difficult, if too much of the shell is gone it’s nearly impossible for it to heal. Well he told us his story, an adventure similar to this that ended very early due to pillagers, when he returned home to his village the pillagers had rampaged it as well, he lost his entire family... or so he thought. We ended up putting two and two together and realizing in the village that is right by our alliance his sister, who also barely survived the pillaging was there, still healing from her wounds.
We brought them both to our sanctuary and our priest was able to bring them together and their sibling bond helped the healing process of their shells. It was one of the most impactful experiences I’ve had and really made me feel like I was in the right place. | "So, uh, what are we saying here? If we save LA from a nuclear bomb, then you and I can get together for dinner and a movie?"

Randall will take first or last shift but will let Rara and Cyrillus choose first.
Randall also has stories from the past where Randall has come across many, many various types of creatures on one adventure or another.

##Bonus Quest #1:
so, this one time, at the item shop...
Randall was shopping for a gift for Randall's lady friend...a gem or a stone or something special like that. The human woman in the shop who was helping Randall find the perfect gift kept looking at Randall with what Randall certainly felt were lust-filled eyes.
And then Randall felt something else. The human woman's hands on Randall's buttocks.
Randall told the human woman that Randall was flattered but Randall was taken.
The human woman just smiled and said, "Okay, I sincerely apologize. Your lady friend is a lucky woman."
Randall agreed. And as Randall left the item shop with the gift in hand, he turned back to the helpful woman from the shop, glancing at her name plate and said "Thank you most kindly,...Mary. You have been a great help! Have a wonderful day."

Bonus Quest #1: Campfire Stories
Malus Kahn stretched out before the fire, its flames casting shadows across his crimson face. "It's been some years now since I've even thought of the dragon Gennefer or of the great havoc she wrecked upon the lands of Zakhara to the east, my homeland. I myself was but a boy of nine when she lost a fight with a genie and came crashing down through the city square, toppling buildings, shops, and even the elderly. Rest in peace, grand ma-ma. Grand pa-pa was never the same after that day. He vowed sweet vengeance on the dragon and sought such magics that would do the trick, sacrificing much in the process."
Malus paused, and stared into the flames for a painful moment. "Grand pa-pa, you see, was a man of great spirit and drive, but the tragic fate of his beloved left him a shell of himself, and in that state he made a pact with someone... some thing, and cursed his bloodline from then until forever. With these powers he was eventually able to find the dragon. Some say he was eaten in one gulp, others say he defeated the she-beast and took on its form as his own. I believe he took shelter outside the dragon's volcanic home, slept through the eruption, and was burned to death, spending his final moments in fiery agony. But yeah, that's the story of why my skin is red. The start of it at least. Time for bed!"
Malus got up from the fire and found a tree to rest his head against for the night.
"Goblin, Robot, we've been through an ordeal. But this was to be expected on a journey such as this. I require my rest. Please, take the first two watches. Stay vigilant. I'll take the third."
The rubied gems in Malus's staff glowed faintly in the dark. No, no he won't.
Main Quest #1: First Watch
C. Final Watch
Main Quest #2: What Was That?
A. Ignore it and continue on with your long rest. If you choose this, you will end the night with full health. |
