I think we should discuss all the things that you would do in normal day-to-day life that would be impossible to get away with in this movie.
OPENING A BAG OF CHIPS!! HOW COULD YOU LIVE? |
you could use scissors to cut open the bag quietly, but you won't be able to eat any!

I was expecting it to be really quiet the whole time. So I was surprised by the score and the louder music at suspenseful parts. As soon as it started, some person in the front of the theatre started coughing, and it sounded like it was going to be a regular thing, but thankfully it wasn't.
The actual movie was alright. I like that it was something original and not a story you see all the time. What was interesting though, was that as I watching, I was thinking to myself, 'this is a movie that you see once and that's probably it', but both people I went with said they'd watch it again.

For being a more original story, there wasn't much story. At all. I like that it begins already 89 or however many days in, but there's no explanation of where those creatures have come from or why. I guess there'd be no way for anyone to find out, but some kind of motive would have been nice.
The characters were well developed though, except did we even learn their names? And the acting was well done by all of the cast.
Do you think there were any other people out there? I wonder how many people tried to get themselves inside of a sound proofed room when it all started going down. |

Oh shit, I tried to make a mental note about that to ask my friend what happened with that pipe when it was over but forgot. You see it streaming when he runs out and then suddenly the whole place was just flooded.
It had to have happened while she was in the bathroom and the thing was stalking up the hallway before the fireworks went off. Maybe it excitedly punched through the wall and hit a pipe? I dunno. Good question though. |
Yeah, but also how did the nail get there? |
For a minute, I thought the daughter did it because the dad wouldn't let her go down there. Did everyone just know to avoid it, but because of the circumstances someone ended up stepping on it? |

It's the first movie that I've got back to watch again in theaters in many many years ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ |
I liked it and it was well done. But if I ever watch it again, it won't be for a very long time. I hope it does well though, I like Krasinski and Blunt a lot.

it's like when talk shows have an update on past guests. We need to catch up with these people!
Agree that it's unnecessary. I liked the way A Quiet Place ended.

the first one felt like we only got a glimpse of the outside world. I sort of liked that about it. It was a specific period of time and focused on the one group of characters and whatever happened next was left to the audience's imagination. As great as Emily Blunt is,

John Krasinski not being able to be in this one (as a main character) sucks, though I don't think the film will suffer for it in any way, if they're bringing in other actors. |

I just watched it last night.
I agree that it felt like a long tv episode rather than a movie. I wouldn't say it was as good as the first but it was nice to see those characters again and the acting was really good.

I liked the plan to get the radio to broadcast the signal, but it all felt kind of anti-climatic. I was expecting a bigger result I guess. All that mission ended up doing was saving the people who wouldn't have needed to be saved if everyone had stayed put. And it got all those people on the safe island killed! I really enjoyed the beginning of the movie. It was nice to see how it all started and to have Krasinski in there. Will we be seeing another sequel down the road? |
