I'll be getting X probably. I don't know why but X seems like it veers on the side I always pick. I've gone Red/Gold/Ruby/Pearl/Black so far.
Avoiding spoilers, not consciously but I have no real interest in reading up on the games ahead of time. I never do really. I kind of like the surprise when I find the new generation monsters.

Farfetch'd is definitely the most in need of an evolution at this point.

Can you transfer from D/P? |
Can't you transfer to black /white and then to X/Y? |
Yup. | |

In fact only the first two gen games are no longer backwards compatible at all. There's absolutely no way I know of to take your gen 1 and 2 (original game) pokemon forwards. Everything from Gen 3 onwards, including the remakes of Gen 1 and 2 are fair game though using the various in game features.

After I finish transferring my pokemon from Whit I can let you have it if you want. |
oh though you'll need 2 DSs to make the transfer, though if you have a DS and a 3DS that shouldn't be a problem. |
Can you trade between a 3DS and a DS? I remember having to get a cheap, pre-owned DS because it wouldn't let me. It'd be kind of annoying if I was wrong on that count.

Oh wait, of course you can. I got the extra DS because I gave my original one away. Nevermind.

I only have one legit legendary I want to keep hold of. There was a Darkrai giveaway on the Wi-Fi a while back. To this day it's the only one of those I actually managed to sign on for in time so I hoard that thing.

I had a dream I was playing this yesterday. It could be hooked up to a TV which made the game have detailed FMV sequences and a bunch of other stuff, but in my dream it was a game with classical gameboy style graphics on the handheld. Pretty strange.
It also opened up with only the former region pokemon being catchable, grouped into their own segments in the dex (e.g. Hoenn, Sinnoh, Kanto etc.) and the others came later on. Also Suicune and Entei were both running up and down the cycle path and didn't flee from that area if you left the fight. They appeared on the map and you could just go up to them.
It was strange but I woke up really wanting this.

LOL TMs have infinite uses now? Thank God. |
Pretty sure it's been that way since HeartGold, if not earlier. Frankly I find it overpowered and refrain from using them at all.

I never used TMs anyway really. I don't know why they bug me. I guess it feels like genetic engineering to my precious mons.

I've just started. Got the Torchic but probably won't use it because meh.
My others so far are:
Fennekin
Kakuna
Scatterbug
Fletchling
Bidoof (lol)
and Pikachu. Everybody keeps praising me for having it so I dunno if it's a rare catch in this game too.
Kind of feels a bit silly that Pikachu uses normal dialogue but the other monsters use their original bleepy bloopy sounds. Pandering much (:
Anyway the game is a lot of fun. I really, REALLY like that when you catch a wild pokemon you still gain experience from the battle. No idea why it took several generations to reach this decision but I'm glad they did. Nothing more frustrating than undoing the entire battle once you decide to catch.
