Hey I created a Letterboxd account, Havo

Still setting it up. My movie tastes seem to be a little different than most of y'alls here. My fav Genre is Film Noirs, I love old movies mainly because they rely more on a good story and not so much on sex and action. I love mysteries also and my taste in comedies is somewhat prudish I guess you could say. Not a big fan of slapstick or just crude stuff. Anyways looking forward to checking out some of you guys stuff.

I don't like the rating system on Letterboxd.

I need more than 5 stars, I'd much prefer 10 stars, I wind up giving everything 3 stars. lol.

The thing is if it's a 1 or 2 star movie, there's a good chance I turn it off and don't bother to finish it. So

Half stars!

3.5=7 etc

What? U can do half stars?

Well, that’s about 600 movies I’ll have to go back and do.

That’s good though. Thanks!

I'm going to force the gf to watch August with me

Our August list is a little different. Sugarboogerz and I picked five movies in different genres that neither of us had seen. Then we each picked five other movies for each other that the other hadn’t seen. So we have five in common and five different

That sounds fun. If I had more time .......

You rate The Dark Knight Rises higher than The Dark Knight?

I do yes. While I think Ledger,s Joker was off the charts and deserving the highest praise, I felt like the rest of the movie didn’t live up to that.

While TDKR, surprised me tremendously by blending things together flawlessly. I expected Cat Woman to be lacking but IMO it was excellent. I don’t even like Hathaway and thought she was very good and changed my opinion of her. And I thought Bane was great and the story was better overall.

But there’s no doubt Ledger’s performance was by far the best in the series. Actually one of the best ever IMO.

But it’s just my opinion. I could easily see why others would prefer TDK.

I thought it was pretty poorly written with generally bad dialogue, and went full retard in the last 30 minutes.

It had gave us good memes though and was enjoyable to watch.

TDK was like 30 minutes too long, but IIRC that was because they had to tie things up after Ledger died.

Lol. Well I loved it.
