Easy fix: just add a rule that if you go inactive for three straight phases (ex. D-N-D) without a legit excuse, you get modkilled.
Might get some of the serial slackers to not sign up.

As a mod, there are only two types of people I can't stand.
1. Those who sign up and never participate.
2. Those who actively try to get modkilled.
Both of those people are basically giving a great big FU to the mod, for all the time and effort they put into coming up with the game. Those people should be subject to a sort of X-game ban or something.

The reason having a dead townie replace an inactive is kind of weird is not just because of what Lamps said, but also because if someone died a townie for whatever the reason, they could come back as 3rd party/mafia and I think the thought process for everyone else would be weird. Because they were confirmed town at death, but they could very well be something different. I think it just muddies the waters.
I still wouldn't even want replacements. Just modkill them or wait until they get lynched. |
It can be a little confusing at first, but it isn't bad. I've been in a ton of games where it was used, and it really wasn't an issue. |
Plus, who wouldn't want to lynch someone like Ahoda or Vern twice in a game?
