Just before the pairs could split off, the double doors were thrust open. It was Jeffrey, the creepy half mute groundskeeper.



"oh men oh men!!" he yelled.

"hi" said Shadow.

"Jeffrey, calm down!" Curtis replied. "What is it? Use your words."

Jeffrey eyed the remaining twelve and decided instead to whisper to Curtis

"...ppsspssssppsssspsohmenpssspsspspsssssohhhmenpssss..."

It was then that Jeffrey presented Curtis with something. Vic's very bloody Skeleton Key. Curtis looked down at it and gulped.

"##Steal key" said Perry, putting the stupid in stupid_panda. Curtis turned back to Jeffrey

"You're sure?"

The other twelve looked on curiously. Curtis turned to face them. His concern turned to a forced smile.

"Well! I uh, suppose it's time you all set off now. There are dozens and dozens of rooms in this house. You'll all begin searching on the first floor."

"I advise you to search well. The pair that has the smallest average amount of candies between the two of them by tonight may just end up like Boc and Vic. I do hope you chose the right partner."

As everyone began to set off, Curtis spoke once more.

"Ohh Matthew! Did you think I would forget?"

Matt stopped in his tracks.

"The box. I believe it's time for you to open it." Curtis said with a smile.

Matt reluctantly removed the small wooden box from his sack. He wiped the dust off as Korr stepped away from him. Matt slowly lifted the lid.

WHOOOSH

A puff of air burst out of the box, as if it had been sealed for many years. The gust of air seemed to surround Matt as he began to panic. The paintings that lined the walls shook. The suit of armor in the corner fell and smashed into pieces. Everyone hit the ground and covered their ears as a high pitched sound emitted from the box.

Matt was frozen in place as the gust of air thrust itself into his throat. With that, the box shut closed. Everyone lifted their hands off of their ears and eyes and rose to their feet. They all turned to Matt.

Matt was sitting peacefully in the center of the foyer steps, looking over the faces of everyone in the room. A deranged smile formed on his face as he cricked his neck in an unnatural position. His smile turned to manic laughter. No one knew what had gotten a hold of him.



Matt has been possessed.

If a player remains possessed by the end of the day, they will automatically select a negative candy choice for themselves in a Main Quest.

Main Quest

It's time to split up. There are twelve rooms to search on this floor. Each pair will visit two. Each individual person must select one of the following. You may change to something else as long as it hasn't been picked yet. Which room do you wish to search?

The Skeleton Key is up for grabs. The first person to post in this thread will take it.

Side Quest #2

There's a hidden bonus challenge during the Day phases. Matt unknowingly succeeded on Day 2 and has received a five candy bonus. The hidden bonus is in effect each day. If you can figure out what it is and accomplish it, you will benefit from it.

If you have a regular key, I'll buy it off of you for 10 candies. What do you say?

In front of you is a large, dusty book of spells. Do you wish to read from it? Select yes or no.

Main Quest

A. Kitchen: Rob tip toed through the kitchen slowly as his partner Kiwi waited behind. He looked down at the trap door leading into the cellar. As he inspected the chains, he found a few extra candies that Vic left behind. As he colelcted the candies and walked out, he heard a ghastly voice call out from the cellar. "That sounds like...Vic?" he said softly. Just then, Kiwi called him away and Rob shrugged it off. +5 CANDIES

B. Living Room: KC shined his flashlight around the dark living room. All of the furniture was covered with white sheets. One sheet gently swayed in the wind coming from a busted window. KC ripped the sheet off of the chair, revealing a stack of candy underneath. He pulled the rest of the sheets off, revealing even more candy. He had struck gold. CANDY TOTAL TRIPLED

C. Library: As Bryce split off into the Bar Room, Natalie made her want into the Library. A grand piano sat still in the corner. Natalie was drawn to it for reasons she couldn't explain. She walked very slowly over to it through the eerily silent room. She stopped at the piano and shined her lantern down at the keys. After a moment of silence...DUNNNNN. Two keys mashed downwards on their own. Natalie screamed and ran out of the room, dropping a few candies behind her. -3 CANDIES

D. Butler's Quarters: Shadow pushed open the door to the Butler's Quarters. It was a standard room. Very bleak. A painting on the wall of fourteen children dressed in various costumes caught his eye. He reached out to touch it. As he did, the painting fell from the wall and onto the ground, revealing a pane of glass on the other side. Through the glass, Shadow could see someone as they inspected another room. It was Vernon. TBC

E. Study: After Rob searched the Kitchen and got lucky, Kiwi was looking to keep their streak alive. He burst into the Study and dug through various book cases and desks. He was in luck. There was candy all over the place. CANDY TOTAL DOUBLED

F. Guest Bedroom: Vernon inspected the lousy guest bedroom. There was nothing of interest in there. Nothing but a giant mirror on the wall. Unbeknownst to him, Shadow was on the other side of that mirror pounding on it. It was a two way mirror, but Vernon could only see himself. As he checked himself out in the mirror which Shadow was forced to watch, a thick fog filled their rooms. When the fog cleared, something wasn't right. Vernon found himself in the Butler's Quarters, and Shadow was in the Guest Bedroom. Each had left their candy behind in their original room. They collected the candy and ran the hell out of there. CANDY TOTAL SWITCHED WITH SHADOW

G. Parlor: Lamps felt guilty over choosing Perry over Matt. He didn't like to leave anyone out, but this cruel game forced him to. As he entered the Parlor, he prayed for some good fortune. Luckily for him, he found it. +5 CANDIES

H. Billiard Room: Korr was feeling uneasy. His original partner Vic was gone, and now he was alone with the possessed Matt. Matt stood creepily in the corner and banged his head against the wall as Korr snuck into the Billiard Room. He uncovered the dusty billiards table and saw each billiard ball already set up. Suddenly, each ball moved on its own and into a nearby pocket. Korr was stunned, but curious. He looked into each pocket on the table. The balls were gone, but candy was within. +10 CANDIES

I. Theater: Matt continued to bang his head against the wall until his forehead was bloody. The demon inside of him was buried deep. All that was left of Matt was gone for the time being. He had no control over his body, and it led him into the Theater room. No matter what he did, it wouldn't end up good for him since he failed to be exorcised. As an old fashioned film began to play on the screen on its own, Matt's body was lifted up off the ground. His arms and legs were stretched out to each direction. The candies from his bag dumped on the ground as Matt's body was dropped hard on the stage below. Matt awoke from his possession. He was seemingly free, but at a price. CANDY TOTAL HALVED.

J. Greenhouse: Zersch stepped into the overgrown Greenhouse. Vines and vegetation lined the floor, walls, and ceiling. He stepped through puddles of moisture and pretended to rev up his chainsaw, cutting his way through some vines on the way. After snipping through one vine, a skeleton fell from the ceiling. Vines were wrapped around the old corpse tight, and maggots were buried within the eye sockets. The corpse clutched a bag of candy. Zersch grabbed it and ran the hell out of there. +15 CANDIES

K. Bar Room: Bryce was busy getting drunk in the Bar as his partner Natalie ran screaming down the hall. Bryce hiccuped and poured himself another drink. As he emptied one bottle, a small object poured out and into his glass. It was a key. +1 REGULAR KEY

L. Ballroom: Perry was feeling confident after a near save earlier in the day. People had called for his head, but Vic bit the bullet instead. The smile on his face quickly evaporated as he entered the Ballroom. A record player played music as several spirits danced around the room. Perry gasped, drawing their attention to him. Their ghostly white faces turned from serene to demonic as their mouths and eyes widened to black holes. Perry ran for the door, but it shut on its own. An hour later, Perry exited the room with no memory of what had happened. All he knew was that his bag was lighter. -3 CANDIES

Side Quest #1
Vernon was the first to post and has attained the Skeleton Key. He still holds onto it, and receives a bonus.

Side Quest #4

Everyone rejoined the group. Some were happy, some were quite horrified. Many had just experienced the horrors of the house first hand.

A book of spells was presented by Curtis, and nine people opted to read from it. Some felt adventurous. Others wanted to make up for the candy they had just lost. They entered the parlor as instructed and read aloud from the book. As they read each passage, numerous white wisps of smoke flew out of the book and into the Foyer, where KC, Natalie, and Lamps waited. The smoke landed at their feet. When it had cleared, all that was left was a few items. One for each of the three who had chosen not to participate. They happily collected their new items.

Everyone met up in the foyer as quickly as they could. Many were now very much afraid of this place. They had seem some things they could not explain. Curtis ushered them all in and gathered them around. Everyone had shown up within a few minutes...except for two people.

"..where are Perry and Lamps?" Bryce asked

The group looked around and realized that the pair was no where to be found. They were out there somewhere, and they were on their own.
