I was hyped as fuck prior to the episode and SO captivated during the episode... but holy shit why would they end the white walker arc like this?!? The premiere of s1, the finale of s2, baby walker transformation, FUCKING hardhome, weirwood.net takeover, the finale of s7... all of which was ambigious yet threatening as fuuuck. It should've gone down to King's Landing before they axed the NK tbh. What a disservice to have superhero assassin Arya come to the rescue like that. Ugh.
Will the House of Black and White ever come after Arya for y'know... abandoning and disrespecting the most revered and mysterious 'cult' in Essos? Like what the fuck why is she getting away with everything now. Realistically they wouldve had her ass killed as soon as she killed the Frey's because she legit broke ALL THE RULES at that point. I was expecting a follow-up for that but that never came and I don't think it will.
Are we now supposed to believe that that storyline was just introduced to have her train to be an assassin so she could sneak up on the NK? Yeah tbh that's simple as fuck given what The House of Black and White ACTUALLY is.
Fuck this show man. I had my hopes high as fuck and now I'm heartbroken. :( | 'Oh my god, it's full of stars!'

But I do have to say that that scene above the clouds was GORGEOUS! The dragon fight was pretty raw too. Wish one of um would've died though to make this episode feel more significant.
I honestly wish a lot more people would have died to truly put emphasis on the battle that just happened.
This felt a little too safe. The stakes were high and everything was going good but it just sucked how they ended it. | 'Oh my god, it's full of stars!'

People are going nuts over it saying it’s the best episode in tv history. Pls. It’s not the best GoT episode, not the best GoT battle episode, and I’m not even sure it’s my favorite episode so far this SEASON!

Meanwhile on Rotten Tomatoes it’s the third LOWEST rated GoT episode of all time. Which is hilarious and has the die hard fans throwing hissy fits. RT is really bad with tv

I'll be contrarian and say I really liked the episode. Sure, too many big names lived (as far as we can tell), but someone has to be around to lead the army of 1000 farmers wives and children against the Golden Company.
I really liked the battle scenes, even though I had no idea what was going on. The whole "fog of war" thing was pretty cool and probably pretty damn accurate, if you were to think about it. Was is the best choice for viewing? Absolutely not. But it put you into the frame of mind of the people in the battle, just blindly swinging your weapon and hoping to hit something. The only thing it was missing was more friendly fire.

Random thing that just came to me: The Lord of Light has no problem with lighting 10,000 Dothraki swords on fire, or an entire moat of defensements, or hell, bringing people back from the dead multiple times, but Melisandre couldn't be bothered to once walk up to Bran, say a couple magic words, and give him his legs back?

I expected it to be very dark for some reason but yeah it was hard to see. I hated all the dragon flying scenes when you couldn't tell which were the good dragons and which was the dead one. Also, the scene where the dragons were fighting, you couldn't tell which was which or what was going on. They also didn't clearly show any of the dead in the crypt and the whole thing was pretty uneventful.
I did tear up a bit at the Theon/Bran ending conversation. That's all Theon ever wanted to be. :(
It was kind of cool that the dagger which was supposed to have killed Bran all those years ago killed the Night King that was trying to kill Bran... er the three-eyed raven.
Overall, I was disappointed. I was waiting for that moment where the Night King dies and his dead army just shatters along with him but I didn't expect them to wrap it up this way.
But now, what army do they have left to go down to Kings Landing with now that everyone but the main characters have died? I guess Daenerys will make a compelling speech and get Cersei's army on her side. :P Oh yeah, the dragons. Does she have one left, or two?
Sam is probably going to have some brave scene which makes up for all his silly scenes where he should have died this episode.

Yeah, everyone has covered my thoughts in here. I'm down with Arya being the one to kill the Night King, but her teleporting out of nowhere made the whole thing feel cheap and poorly executed to me. I think they wanted to set up her sneak skillz via that one library scene, but a couple WWs is not really the same as sneaking through literally hundreds or thousands between her and the Night King.
The WWs dying with next to no character development and just leaving us with "They wanted to kill everyone because evil and stuff" was not only super underwhelming and lame, but also kind of against the whole style of the series? No black or white, just shades of grey. Never seeing the Night King even fight was like going into a Star Wars movie and Vader doesn't even use his lightsaber once.
Lot of other cool scenes, I guess, but too much plot armor and people teleporting around or out of corners off screen made everything feel overly contrived in hindsight.

Curious if there's more to it, or Arya is the Prince that was Promised?

Maybe Arya and Gendry will sit on the Iron Throne together, they are third in line I think.
