Prettyyy good start! I missed this show
The Punisher's boogeyman treatment was well done. I'm real excited to see him play out. I have no idea if there's an actual BIG BAD on the show this season or if it's gonna be a battle of ideologies between Daredevil and anti-hero Punisher all season but I'm anxious to see. I kinda hope to see them team up after a rival story arch and take down an actual villain down the road. I really have no idea if that's the plan or if they'll really villainous Punisher
Matt/Foggy/Karen dynamic remains great. I root for them so much. I think that aspect was entirely missing from Jessica Jones. Daredevil remains well ahead for me |

I'm rooting for Grotto which does not bode well for him :(
Foggy is stepping it UP man! The first two episodes have been packed with heroic Foggy moments. Nice character development
I hate the DA lady and hope Foggy crushes her by the end of the season
Very excited for the next episode since I expect it to be convo heavy between Daredevil/Punisher |

y grotto y
The fight scene was great but the rooftop exchanges were even better. You know it's a great show when it can seamlessly go from character moments/heavy philosophical debate/morality issues into really well shot and produced action pieces. I liked the classic hallway fight a bit more but I also don't really wanna compare them too much, both were really well done
I loved Frank's "you're one bad day away from being me" line |

Sheiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit. Best of the season so far
Jon Bernthal is so good in everything he does but I think he's at his best here. The character suits him so well. The way he lumbered out of the torture chair and casually took people out was awesome, and his speech at the end was amazing. Is this the end of his arch?! I didn't think it'd be a four episode story line at all, I feel like there's no way he doesn't show back up and play some part in things. If the meat of his arch is just these first four episodes then that's such a shame. I'm significantly less interested in the Elektra character/actress than I was in Punisher, but we'll see
Also the villain was great, what a menace. I thought we'd be spending wayyy more time with him when he was introduced at the start of the episode. Then he takes a horrifically gory shotgun blast to the face half an hour later. The structure has been fairly unpredictable
Really curious where the direction of the season goes in at this point |

I didn't like this season as much as the first. I felt it was a bit convoluted at times and the two contrasting stories didn't allow me to get fully enveloped into one.
Jon Bernthal and Elodie Yung are incredible actors tho. Such great additions. Love Karen, and actually found myself getting annoyed with Matt a lot this season. I know that was the intention, but the dude was a fucking trainwreck.

NITPICK
Halfway through episode 7. I like Karen as a character but I'm getting VRY tired of Deborah Ann Woll's overacting. She does these weird dramatic stutters constantly, it worked at first as part of her character I guess but now it's just way too often. Its becoming increasingly more noticeable and distracting for me. Watch any one scene with her and you'll see what I mean, she's always taking weird pauses and stuttering in an unrealistic way
AND AND AND she always like...pats on a table or a counter top when she walks away or has a mini breakthrough or victory and it bothers me. YOU WILL NOTICE THIS
I guess if my biggest complaint is Deborah Ann Woll slapping tables then the season is in good shape

show's getting better. The first two episodes were a bit action-heavy (even though it was well choreographed for the most part) but I liked that this one took more of a step back. The courtroom scenes were good. And this Kingpin guy seems like he'll be an interesting villain, just from his last line. "It makes me feel alone"
as far as the characters go:
- I like Murdock for the most part even though he's a bit annoyingly SMUG at times!
- Hate his sidekick
- The blonde girl seems like she's primed to die at some point. Probably will get caught up too deep unraveling the Kingpin case and get killed, leading to Murdock blazing a path of destruction
- I liked Murdock's dad. I hope they bring him back in a few more flashbacks
none of the characters have really grabbed me yet but it's still early I guess. Like I said I think Kingpin could be good just based on the small glimpse at the end |

update!
shit's getting more interesting
|
The confrontation between Murdock and Kingpin was very cool, I was surprised they did it so 'soon'. DIDN'T care for the convenient way that it ended but eh, it's to be expected with the genre. The villain always has to monologue/hesitate instead of just pulling the trigger. The many other comic tropes that the show employs do bother me here and there (I feel like it kinda clashes with the 'gritty' tone) but I've come to accept it. I mean, it's a comic adaptation after all
DONDE ESTA LA BIBLIOTECA! Community reference! First thing Foggy's said all series that I've liked
Kingpin's by far the most interesting part of this series. I like the direction they've taken with him, he's basically an insecure man-child at heart. Definitely a pretty unique villain. The acting choices like his strange inflection and facial quirks are pretty interesting
Other characters I've liked/found interesting: Stick, Kingpin's assistant, Murdock (sometimes), Vanessa. I still have no idea why Vanessa's with Fisk though. Does she have kind of MOTIVE? I just don't see them having much of a romantic connection from what has been shown |

Oh man. That Frank prison fight scene, so good. I liked the way they brought Fisk back into the fold, he's already more important than I thought he'd be. I figured he'd just make a cameo but this is cool, seeing him and Frank fight is fun
That Nobu guy is alive ok |

This one was so great, lots going on
- Reyes getting gunned down. Came outta nowhere
- Matt meeting Fisk again was a great scene
- Stick sending someone to kill Elektra. Why tho
- Frank saving Karen was great. I have no idea who the actual shooter is
- Those hospital children are vry creepy. I like that they ended it with the upcoming attack on the hospital, should be pretty good |
