Matt set the mysterious box down on the wooden floor and proceeded to look over the other twelve. Matt didn't have to say a word before the rest began to throw each other under the bus.

"alliance of safety??" Shadow demanded.

Kiwi Myers began to beg and plea, and was soon joined by Lamps, Vic, and Korr. Zersch continued to do interpretive chainsaw dances to prove his worth.

"Take out the person with the most candy tbh." Perry said as Natalie shot him a look. "Every man for himself!"

"KILL PERRY!" Bryce shouted. "He'll do whatever he can for HIMSELF!"

"Why kill me?! Then he only gets my four candies!" Perry said, not understanding how the game works.

Frankenvern got down on his knees to beg for his life.

"HARK!! DON'T SEND ME OUT THERE ALONE MAN!!!"

"Matt, kill Perry and take my Skeleton Key!" Vic offered.

Matt stood watching in silence for about twelve hours before speaking.

" :) " he said eerily. "Korr, you're with me buddy. Sorry Vic!"

Curtis stepped back in and pulled Vic aside. "Well, that sucks Vic! You'll have to explore this place on your own. Go on and take this flashlight, you're gonna need it."

Vic took the flashlight from Curtis and bumped shoulders with Matt. Matt attempted to swipe the Skeleton Key from him, but it didn't work.

"Alright everyone, it's about time for you to start exploring this place. Be careful out there. This house comes alive at night...you never know what's behind a corner."

"Vic, you get the fun job of checking out the cellar, just through the kitchen. Jeffrey is waiting down there with a fun spooky surprise. He'll escort you to the gate soon enough. The rest of you can all scatter in a bit. Wave goodbye to Vic!"

Vic shot a final look at Matt and set off on his own. He walked through the kitchen looking for the cellar door, but it was nowhere in sight. With one peculiar creek beneath his feet, he had found it. He was standing on it. The door was built into the floorboards. Vic grabbed the handle and pushed the loose chains to the side. He swung the heavy door open and stared down below. The steps led down into the darkness. Vic exhaled and stepped into the unknown.

Each wooden stair bent downwards from the pressure. One board snapped, but Vic managed to regain his composure. As he reached the bottom, he noticed the foul stench coming from within the cellar. It was nauseating. He shined his flashlight around the walls to look for a light switch, but there was none to be found. The only other source of light came from the open cellar door at the top of the stairs.

The only noise that could be heard was a series of drips coming from the pipes. Vic took the final step off of the stairs and was met with a splash. He shined his flashlight down at the floor and discovered it was ankle deep with liquid. He quickly discovered what the liquid was. Blood.

"Fuck this." Vic said under his breath as he turned to walk back up the stairs.

Just then, the cellar door slammed shut.

"HEY!!" Vic yelled as he ran up the steps. "OPEN THE FUCKING DOOR!"

Vic ran so fast that he had forgotten about the broken step.

His leg went straight through the gap and the rest of him followed. He clutched onto the step higher, but he couldn't hold himself up. His nails dug into the wooden board and broke off as he fell into the pool of blood with a splash.

Vic stood to his feet as quickly as he could, coughing and spitting the blood back out of his mouth. He realized he had dropped his flashlight. He looked around and saw no glow coming from within the water. "Terrific." he said as he felt around for it. He was too distracted to realize what was going on behind him.

Ripples began to form on the surface of the bloody water. A dark shape crept just beneath the surface very quickly, making a slight splash as it did so. Vic spun around.

"..Jeffrey? Is that you?" he asked.

The movement was now behind him in the other direction. Vic spun around again.

"This is bullshit. Let me go home please!" he pleaded.

The ripples appeared again behind Vic. As he searched for the flashlight some more, the dark shape began to slowly rise out of the water. The dark red blood stuck together to form a strange humanoid figure. It silently raised up from the water as Vic began to turn around. When he spun around, it had sunk back down out of sight.

"What the hell is going on around--"

Without warning, Vic was grabbed from below and plunged underneath the water. The water was only a few inches deep, but Vic had submerged completely in it somehow. Ripples and splashes coated the surface of the water. Soon enough, the struggling stopped. The bubbles each popped, and the surface was smooth and quiet once again.

Rising to the surface after a moment of dead silence was a small object. The Skeleton Key.
