Ugh, poor Ellsworth :( . I love Jim Beaver. And poor me for getting spoiled on his death mere days ago!! I feel like it wouldve been very surprising otherwise, 15 minutes into the penultimate episode and it happens so quick. And its one of very very very few main character deaths overall
Whole episode was great, same with the one before when Alma got shot at. Loved Al springing to action and helping both times. Also loved him killing the guy who shot at her
Onto the finale |

S3 finale
|
pretty good, but also slightly underwhelming. If I was watching as it aired and THIS was the series finale I would be pissed. It just feels so incredibly incomplete, which it is since it was cancelled. You can tell they had more in them for suuuure, really sad that they had to end abruptly. I'm glad there's a movie as a prologue of sorts at least. I definitely wanted a corny montage of every character to close it out in this ep
Surprised you thought it was the best ep of the series Cart, it might've even been the weakest of the three finales for me. Still liked it tho, the first two finales were just really good from what I remember. I love how there's a sense of urgency and tension in each finale, you can always tell some shit is about to pop off
Leon dying in the last eight minutes of the series, what a GIFT!
Hearst really delivered. God I wanted to see him killed so badly, he's an absolute menace. I cant believe he won by the series end. I hope he gets what's coming to him in the movie
WHERE
AS
DOC
COCHRAN
Wtf. How DARE they not include him! That's so sad
Best moment of the episode was EB the rat peering out of the hole on the balcony and just re assuming his position. So good, I loved that. Just carrying on like he's hot shit again
Another mvp of the ep was Johnny. The scene where he cant kill her and stands up to Al is so great, his best acting of the series. I like Sean Bridgers a lot
Movie this weekend prob, gonna be so weird to see all of these people so suddenly way older |

not making the distinction as far as LIKABILITY obv, just best characters, I think I'd go (and ya the movie wouldn't shift any of this)
1. Swearengen
2. Bullock
3. Hearst
4. Farnum
5. Wolcott
with Dan just missing the cut

idk I thought the S3 finale had a lot of good tension, I don't think the series was ever as propulsive as it was there. It didn't work as a SERIES conclusion obv but I can't hold that against it

Honestly, opposite for me. I think she got more tolerable as she went. Still didnt like her at all but she had better moments in s2 and s3. In s1 she was so one dimensional and insufferable

I also hate that Cy was sidelined, I did not see his story going that way. But I do kinda love that he ends up as just another lackey to Hearst when he saw himself as more of a major player. I saw people suggesting that he kills Leon because he's furious that he's become Hearts Leon and that's kinda perfect to me
Really sad that Boothe died, he was so menacing and terrific. Wouldve loved to see Cy in the movie

eh her being a drunken mess starting in s2 was way more one note to me, I mean it was always part of her character but that became like the ENTIRETY of her character (til the Joanie stuff which was ok, but not really cuz of her) to the point where I mostly forgot why I liked her in the first place! I do know she never topped her plague scenes with Doc Cochran tho
