she said no. She left. She returned. That's on her. She tried one other way, and that was it. How did these people even meet if they can't see or talk to each other because of the alligators?

If we want to be that specific, then the story said she loved Gregory, not that he necessarily loved her. It follows up calling them lovers, but how do we know that Gregory wasn't just some guy she was pining for and totally got fucked up just because he was like "WTF, why did you do all that?"

Also, Sinbad the Sailor is too awesome- how could Abigail say no!?!?!

Maybe Gregory should be the worst one because he didn't even try to go see Abigail instead.

2. Abigail, intentions were good but decision making was atrocious, but she's a woman so she gets away with it
3. John, he's a woman's puppet
4. Elizabeth, doesn't seem to care about her daugther's issues, but seems to know what's what
5. Gregory, the moral pillar of a man

I can't speak for everyone here but personally, if the genders were reversed and Abe tried to cross the river to see his bae Gregorella, and he had to have sex with a female riverboat captain to get across, my rankings would be exactly the same

The female riverboat captain would get a 4 ranking for being a morally upstanding citizen, but as male, he would get a 1 ranking as a sexual predator.

All my other rankings would probably be the same, though.
