Main Quest 2:

Up until the ambush, Marnu had been having a fantastic day. The sun was shining, the birds were chirping, and Marnu was sure that nothing would go wrong.

Throughout the morning, Marnu noticed that Murder Bunny frequently glancing in his direction. When he pointed it out to Vandal and Hustus, they furrowed their brows. They claimed that the Bunny's expression was one of animosity and hatred, and that Marnu should be watching his back because Murder Bunny was dangerous. Yet Marnu knew in his heart that they were wrong and that Murder Bunny was just shy. The next time that he caught Murder Bunny looking in his direction, he responded with a wink and a smile.

He spent most of his morning practicing with his harp and playing for anyone willing to listen. Marnu found himself surprised with how many of these adventurers had busy schedules and were unable to find the time. Tuuluuwaq was about to listen until he realized at the last minute that he had forgot about 'that thing he had to do right away'. Booberella said she would love to hear him perform but right as Marnu started she developed a sudden splitting headache. And Prigatt explained that he would listen to Marnu on any other day of the week but it was strictly against his religion to listen to performing frogs on Tuesdays.

Well, audience or not, he needed his practice. He decided to sit in the carriage and strum a tune. It was short lived, as midway through his second song there was a commotion outside and Marnu heard someone yell the words 'Ambush!'. Marnu let out a high pitched croak, ambushes were scary! Oddly, everyone else in the carriage seemed to breathe a sigh of relief before clamor out of the carriage and towards the Gnolls.

Marnu found himself alone in the carriage, and looked out at the big scary Gnolls. He saw Vandal leap into action, biting one Gnoll in the throat while lashing out with his claws at another. He heard Hustus exclaim that he was running to find reinforcements. Marnu stood there alone, and frozen, completely unsure of what to do. Everything outside was dangerous and scary.

He called out to his friends: "Wow Vandal, what marvelous work! Any Gnoll will be shaking in their boots the next time they see you! I would be out there helping you but I don't want you to rob you of your glory. Instead, I shall do the other equally brave thing and defend the inside of this vehicle. I know it's a very dangerous task but someone has to do it!'

Main Quest #2
