I have major beef with cults. If it's not done right it can ruin a game. There should never be any way cult can recruit as fast as its lynched. I would never include a cult if it didn't have a hard cap and definitely no replacing dead members. Way too OP |

I love the challenge of Cult games because it adds a very cool dynamic to the otherwise linear town v mafia v SK vibe. That being said an unlimited every night recruiting Cult isn't something I agree with either. I'd love to see a Cultafia where they have to either recruit or kill and can't do both back to back. But it would have to be a huge gamesize to even try that.

I believe we did have a game where the cult could either kill or recruit every night. But I don't remember which one.

I think the only role I would seriously want to ban would be the ability to pick a lynch train and be told how many scum are on it. I don't remember the name or the game but it was so bad. |
That was one of the games I ran and Curtis got 4 people lynched when he was the scum. It was pretty funny |
No this was wayyy back in the day before you came to FE. DD had the role and I was scum with Curtis and idr who else but we all stupidly piled on a lynch and then DD used the role and basically caught our whole team.

I agree with the balance part but I have seen games where the Cult Leader can either kill or recruit - like in ATTWS IV I think. Black Creek. But I've seen it in other games, also. I've also made a cult way OP but it's a learning curve.

If the mafia IS a cult you would probably have to inform the town of this mechanic or there's no way they would figure this out in time. It would add a fun sensory overload amount of uncertainty because top town reads would be the likey recruits. I definitely would hate scumhunting in this set up. Also there would have to be some sort of incentive to chose killing over recruiting because that's an obvious decision without

I like cults if double cross options are available.
I have also seen recruiting masons act as a balance to unlimited cult recruits.

I like the idea of a Mason team with the ability to replace by recruiting with a limit.
