The reason having a dead townie replace an inactive is kind of weird is not just because of what Lamps said, but also because if someone died a townie for whatever the reason, they could come back as 3rd party/mafia and I think the thought process for everyone else would be weird. Because they were confirmed town at death, but they could very well be something different. I think it just muddies the waters.

I still wouldn't even want replacements. Just modkill them or wait until they get lynched.

Something I hate more than inactives though is someone who never posts anything in the phases but still submits night actions, altering the course of the game. If you are playing, then play. If not, then don't.

It can be a little confusing at first, but it isn't bad. I've been in a ton of games where it was used, and it really wasn't an issue.
