I was going to ask if anyone saw it. I trust your judgement on a horror movie, Chris.
Don't know when I will see it, but definitely will.

This is honestly one of the best made horror movies I've seen in a long time. It had a great script and an excellent balance between story, humor, and horror.
I'd honestly go see it again sometime.

saw this tonight, ppp good

I'm not exactly a horror movie fan but it really wasn't that scary to me. The jump scares are pretty much the only things that got me but any movie can do that. That said the well house sequences were pretty effective, especially the first one
Where the movie really shined was the interactions between all of the Losers Club members, they cast this movie really well. Eddie was my fav
also I gotta say, as far as the opening scene goes I think the original was better. There was something more unsettling about Tim Curry's original Pennywise form cuz it actually did look fairly innocent with just a hint of being something sinister. That said I was not expecting to see that arm come off, that was fucking brutal |
def looking forward to part 2. Should be fun to see who they cast

Also just saw it

SOLID! Not as good as I had hoped but not as bad as I was bracing for
Thought it was really funny at times. Richie was my favorite, the actor killed it. Mike's not my favorite in Stranger Things but I'm looking forward to S2 more now just because of how great he did here.
"This used to be a beaver trapping town"
"Still is, RIGHT FELLAS!"
Cracked me up. There was another line he had that was the best of the movie but I can't think of it. Eddie was my other favorite, he was also hilarious. When he broke his arm and Richie wanted to set it back into place, "DON'T FUCKING TOUCH ME DON'T TOUCH ME!"
I thought they were all great. It did give me Stranger Things vibes, not just because of Mike or the bikes or setting or anything, but just because the kids were all so well handled and felt genuine. I always hate child actors but off the top of my head the Stranger Things cast and this cast are among the best groups
I found absolutely none of it scary though, that's the big downside for me. Literally was unphased by every single scare which was a bummer. I didn't really even think many of the visuals or situations were that fucked up, especially for something that's supposed to be nightmarish. I think they could've done a lot better there. It probably hurt that I mostly knew the story
Pennywise was good, Skarsgard was solid. Curry scared me way more but I was obviously much younger. I dunno if I can fault Skarsgard for the lack of scares, more so the choices the director made
Really excited for the sequel either way. Bill Hader is getting a lot of buzz for older Richie and I think he'd be perfect |

"These pills are gazebos! They're bullshit!"
"ROCK FIIIIIIIGHT! *gets hit with rock*"
"Go blow your dad, you mullet wearing asshole!"
"Can only virgins see it? is that why i'm not seeing this shit?!"
"I can't believe I drew the short straw... you guys are lucky we ain't measuring dicks!"
"Imagine how Betty Ripsom feels as well having to run around in here with only one shoe."
"WHERE ARE HER LEGS"
"This motherfucker is bleeding hamburger helper."
All hilarious. I think the hamburger helper line was the one I was thinking of |

I honestly can't get over when IT was chasing Ben around and screaming "EGG BOY!"
I don't know why that's so funny, but I've been calling my roommate egg boy all weekend. |

My mom asked if I wanted to go see it and I'm like "eh" cuz I've never really cared about the story, but maybe I'll find it on Kodi or something.

I just saw IT today.
|
I don't know if it was all the hype or all the avatars on here, but I think my expectations were too high. I read the book - back before I saw the original mini-series on TV and it was way better and scarier than the mini-series. This movie isn't scary, either, and I'm scared easily. I thought it was way too drawn out but it makes sense since there will be a part II - which I didn't know at first.
I liked a lot of it, the actors were great and it was fun. They just milked this a little too much imo. Also, leaving out the junkyard scene with Henry and his degenerate gang was too bad as I thought that was a great scene in the mini-series and was really bonding for the group. I did think the new Pennywise was good because Tim Curry was so great in the original, so they did a good job re-casting that role. Overall, good job with casting and it was enjoyable. |
