true but since they are being so blatant about it we can finally call them on their shit.
A movement this large against-equality will surely get the masses riled up, and I'm sure some change will come of this, either good or bad I think things are about to get massively shaken up.

Lol this thread is mild compared to another message board I'm on. They have 16 pages so far on the topic. ;)

haha, yes I've had quite the lengthy discussions elsewhere as well.

Henry to put it simply Chick-fil-a's founder came out and said he supported the "traditional" family. As in, not gay marriage. and his company funds anti-gay organizations.
So people decided to boycott them, Jim Henson company pulled their toys and etc. Because they don't support those views.
So Mike Huckabee, Republican christian failed candidate mandated a "Chick-fil-a Appreciation Day" where you go to Chick-fil-a and buy a sandwich to support the tradtional family and what Chick-fil-a supports essentially. And there was a massive turn out with lines like this.
That brings us to where we are now, with the supporters and the boycotters being made clear on opposite sides of the debate.

Supposedly they had World Record setting sales for that day. Probably just going to make the opposers even more mad. | "So, uh, what are we saying here? If we save LA from a nuclear bomb, then you and I can get together for dinner and a movie?"

I'm guessing few if any considered the Coke product they bought with their sandwich, which I find ironic since Coke supports gay rights. | A lesson without pain is meaningless. That's because no one can gain without sacrificing something. But by enduring that pain and overcoming it, he shall obtain a powerful, unmatched heart. A fullmetal heart. |

no it was just store record setting sales. And it doesn't make me mad. It makes the situation pretty funny from where I'm sitting. Well it's also sad I guess.

Yes, it's a nationwide food chain that is christian owned (so it doesn't open on sundays).
The people in Ari's post I guess bought the chicken with their church and took photos with the bags while sitting in church, which is wut.
Here is an advert for the restaurant
I do admit the Cows selling chicken is a clever marketing point though.

I think all this is pretty silly. Granted, they did put a couple of pretty bad PR stunts (posing as a teenage girl on the chain's Facebook page being one of them), but it's not like they were ever NOT against gay marriage, etc.
Actually, all this has served to do is make me want to eat there since it's apparently pretty good chicken. I ate there once when I was in Florida, but I don't really remember it.

it should also be noted that nowhere in the bible does it mention anything about Lesbianism... all verses pertaining to homosexuality talk about a man sleeping with a man (and all other verses people translate as being anti-gay actually call them simply "effeminate" in the KJV... as in, don't be womanly if you are a man, straight or not.)
So, really, christians have no reason whatsoever to be against lesbianism. If we want to get technical. |
Romans 1:
26 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. 27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.

Anyway I've went to Chick-fil-A like... once? And I don't remember it even being very good. I think it's more of a SOUTHERN thing because I don't think there's any around where I live
Somehow it doesn't surprise me that something in the South has bigoted views! (:
But anyway I'm more sick of hearing about this than I actually care about it. But my take on the matter is: I disagree with CFA's stance, but I think they have every right to have that stance. We can't police people's opinions, no matter how bigoted they are. And if people come out in droves (again, it's the South, DOESN'T SURPRISE ME) to support those bigoted views... well that's their prerogative.
