Distract it with some honey or a small pig or donkey.

In both scenarios you’re obviously fucked, but you aren’t choosing the one you think would be a faster/better death, you’re choosing the one that you think you might have the slightest chance of survival |

Bear, you could climb a tree and try to stab it in the eyes with a branch or something, stab it with something sharp as it's trying to maul you (and then most likely die of your wounds), if there's a lake you might outswim it and tire it out in the water, etc.
With the shark you're dead either way even if it doesn't hurt you...
If it was a polar bear I'd go with the shark. There's a reason you're required to be armed if you go where they roam.

Sharks are pretty chilled out animals, they rarely attack. Scuba divers regularly swim with them and play games with them
Grizzly's just wanna kill and eat

Each beast is aggressively trying to find you and kill you, we’re ignoring the fact that maybe they’re just territorial or curious and all that, let’s say you pissed them off somehow |

And I'm saying I would have zero chance of survival short of 10,000 rats showing up to fight on my behalf.

I mean I do carry a picket knife when I'm on land, soI guess that ups my odds to .0000000000000000000000000000000000001% with the bear

I'm more confident I could beat up a bear with a big stick. |
You're Canadian. That's just a Tuesday for you, isn't it?
