Vernon has been lynched.

"Everybody, stand back," Helios said as he approached the box, no doubt left behind by the Prince of Puzzlers, the Riddler.

As he examined the box more closely, he noticed a small latch on its side.

He carefully opened it to find a small folded piece of paper. He began to read aloud.

"What is always on its way here, but never arrives?"

Moments later, his eyes widened as he realized the answer.

The paper fell from his hand as he turned to run, almost bumping into Vernon. He couldn't get out of there fast enough.

Vernon noticed the paper and picked it up, yelling after Helios.

"Hey!" he shouted. "You dropped this!"

None the wiser, Vernon took a look at the note and read the riddle to himself.

What is always on its way here, but never arrives?

"Oh," he said. "That's easy! Tomorrow. The answer is tomorrow!"







KABOOM!!!!!


The box exploded, catching Vernon in the blast, and leaving pieces of him all over the street.


Vernon has died.
