DECEMBER: we’re doing five movies from 2018 that we missed and wanna watch before the year is up
- The Favourite
- The Rider
- Beast
- Minding the Gap
- U: July 22
Thanks for listening everyone |
Swapped July 22 for Roma
1. The Rider
2. The Favourite
3. Minding the Gap
4. Roma
5. Beast
All were good/v good but none absolutely blew me away like I was hoping they would. Especially Roma and The Favourite I guess, I had heard such amazing things

JANUARY: Jacob and I are watching five movies from AFI’s classic top 100 list (a randomized category)
https://boxd.it/3HSW
- Casablanca
- Citizen Kane
- Ben Hur
- Network
- Do the Right Thing
Some CLASSICS. Let’s see which hold up and which are outdated as shit

U: July 22 , on my watch list |
Apparently there’s TWO about this event. Both came out this year. One is called U: July 22 and one is called....22 July, that’s the Netflix original one
U: July 22 is supposed to be better, that’s the one I’m gonna watch |
I saw the other one "22 July" - it was okay.. but I also heard U: July 22 is supposed to be better so that's on my list.

I've started this since I've been going to the theater a lot more actively. Though my at home movie watching has died down... a lot. Mostly just adding movies I've seen for the time being and I'll make sillai lists and whatever later.
It's.... extremely difficult. I just scrolled through the first ten pages of popular movies and searched a few actors I know I've seen a lot from and that's about it for right now. |

That's pretty much what I did when I was first adding things, I would just bookmark whatever page I last left off at when I was done and work my way through the most popular movies that way. Took a WHILE and was v tedious but probably the best way to thoroughly get your entire backlog on there

The more you use it and explore lists the easier it’ll be to find stuff. It seemed so overwhelming to me at first but it ended up being really easy, I feel good about having nearly every movie I’ve seen checked

Hey TommyHero do this. An easy excuse to filter through recent years by movie popularity and add a bunch you’ve seen

I do yes. While I think Ledger,s Joker was off the charts and deserving the highest praise, I felt like the rest of the movie didn’t live up to that.
While TDKR, surprised me tremendously by blending things together flawlessly. I expected Cat Woman to be lacking but IMO it was excellent. I don’t even like Hathaway and thought she was very good and changed my opinion of her. And I thought Bane was great and the story was better overall.
But there’s no doubt Ledger’s performance was by far the best in the series. Actually one of the best ever IMO.
But it’s just my opinion. I could easily see why others would prefer TDK.

I thought it was pretty poorly written with generally bad dialogue, and went full retard in the last 30 minutes.
It had gave us good memes though and was enjoyable to watch.
TDK was like 30 minutes too long, but IIRC that was because they had to tie things up after Ledger died.

This was kinda hard because there's a lot of nostalgia in my choices and my taste when I was younger is a lot different from how it is now. I also have a weird gap during the phase where I never went to the theater, I have a lot of holes in the mid-2010's. For instance 2014 was literally Boyhood, The Interview or The Dictator. Hmm. |

Been going through this the last few days, up to 764. Still don't feel even close to complete but I think I have the mass majority.
In response to the rating breakdown a few pages ago:
½: 10 (2%)
★: 49 (11%)
★½: 19 (4%)
★★: 65 (14%)
★★½: 59 (13%)
★★★: 108 (24%)
★★★½: 63 (14%)
★★★★: 55 (12%)
★★★★½: 16 (4%)
★★★★★: 11 (2%)
Refrained from rating a good chunk, mostly stuff I watched as a kid that I don't remember a fucking thing about except that I saw them. |
