I used my roommate's Chromecast for a while when he didn't have a TV and I found it pretty annoying. Definitely recommend a Roku over Chromecast.

Youtube TV is nice because it has a DVR feature.

I also have youtubeTV and a roku. It works well, and like Mads said - the DVR function is really nice.
