Antichamber is $4, it's a great thinking outside of the box puzzle game that I recommend.

Does a game exist where you start in like the stone ages or early history and you live, build, and evolve? A game like that would be neat

The witness is actually a game I wouldn't recommend very much. It's very pretty but the game was frustrating because there's 0 story whatsoever. There's like bonus clip things you can find/solve but they're too abstract to give a shit about. The puzzles are decent though, so if that's all you're interested in, go for it. But if you're expecting to like explore and discover secrets of a cool island, you'll be sorely disappointed.

I would recommend the talos principle instead! The story, while kinda pretentious and philosophical, is at least present and interesting. And there's a wider variety of puzzles which I really enjoyed. And it's cheaper than the witness! It's not AS pretty as the witness but it has some cool visual moments, but I still think it's a way better game overall

seconded, Talos is gr8. I have a habit of dropping puzzle games the first time I get majorly stuck on something, but Talos is one where it felt super rewarding/fulfilling whenever I'd finally figure some of the harder ones I'd been banging my head against. And I actually did enjoy the story for what it was

Along the same vein, if anyone hasn't played Braid yet (the original game by the guy who made The Witness), I'd definitely recommend that. One of the best puzzle games AND has a p good story. Only $4.50 right now

Also I have yooka laylee and I wouldn't recommend it. I really am not enjoying it that much. It just did not capture me from the start and the controls so far are kind of a pain.

No, I've played that before. That's more to do with war and conquering, right? I just mean like a civilization game where you build a city and slowly over time learn new things and grow your city through the ages

Are you thinking of Spore Bryce? Cuz that game sucked!

Also, I've picked up the Bioshock series on Curtis' recommendation. It better be good, otherwise I fully expect him to refund me the money.

No, I don't have a game in mind, I'm asking if a game like that exists because it would be fun

Oh man you've never played? I assume you got all three? I just bought the trilogy and all DLC for 20 bucks, amazing deal. I've never owned any for PC so I'm gonna restart with the remastered first one soonish

I hear the remastered can be buggy and wasn't an excellent...remastering overall, but it's still worth playing over the original as long as it runs for you (I guess part of the problem was that it wasn't running for everyone)

Yeah I picked up all three remastered. Never played any of them before but I've been meaning to for years!
