I feel like the Dorne ladies were just hyper-sexualized/corny characters so them dying meant absolutely nothing to me. It did suck though because Oberyn was my favorite character in series and this whole episode made Dorne look bad.

That's what perplexed me so much about how badly they've handled Dorne. They NAILED Oberyn and made him an even better character on the show than he was in the books. Then everything else that relates to Dorne turned into a bad CW show

The Sand Snakes weren't anything too special in the books but they definitely missed opportunities with Doran/Ellaria/Arianne. Ellaria actually bothers me more than the sand snakes on the show just because she legitimately had some great characterization in the books that they COMPLETELY reversed on the show. In the books she's the one that's trying to talk down the sand snakes from getting revenge (basically taking Doran's side) and expresses how futile revenge can be. Whereas on the show she's so ridiculously cartoonish, her "All Lannisters deserve to die!!!!1!!" line this ep was one of her worst yet. Doesn't help either that that actress isn't exactly the greatest

That's not even mentioning the missed opportunity to include the Queenmaker plot involving Myrcella and Arianne and the subsequent backlash to that. That would have been amazing to see on screen and would've established Doran as a powerful figure as well. Just tweek certain things around from other storylines and it'd be able to work even with them omitting Young Griff and Jon Connington.

Cut out some Grey Worm/Missandei action and some other minor scenes and you could have actually had enough time to include that or something similar to that.

Continues to be my primary criticism. I've learned to stop nit-picking the small stuff (like Littlefinger telling the story of the Hound to Sansa instead of the Hound telling Sansa himself) and appreciate the show for how it is - but this and the North Remembers plotlines are 2 that the show admittedly handled very poorly.

I'm still waiting for Strong Belwas.

He will appear during the final battle, I'm sure.

I enjoyed finally getting some Varys answers and clearing up his poisoning and spying on Dany only to join her later. And he made it pretty convincing I'm impressed.

When Cersei's mad scientist guy was like "we have a plan" I was really hoping he was planning to reanimate dead dragons. And we could have zombie skeleton dragons vs real ones.

Probably too rediculous but the show is already in fanfiction territory might as well go whole hog.

I mean this guy brings mountain back to life as some sort of silent undead hulk. Then he says he has a plan and leads to a bunker full of dead dragons and his plan is.... Big crossbow? Wut a letdown.

I have to admit I did kind of laugh when Qyburn excitedly pulled the cover off and it was just a giant ballista. Something about the mounting music and my mind racing with what magically monstrous thing he had cooked up this time made the reveal comical for me.

Yeah, the pay-off when coming from a character like Qyburn was kinda comical, but putting all that aside and actually seeing the ballista, I got this sinking feeling knowing that one (or more) of the dragons are going to die soon considering they've been around for so long. It's inevitable, but that brought it home.

It had this dark gritty feel to it, the same way Cersei's crowning did - I felt the directors captured the significance of both of those moments really well and it made you feel kinda dirty.

We had a team-building game at work in which we had to make a marshmallow launcher with some sticks and shit.

The winning team made a crossbow named "Dragonslayer"
