Easily Gabon for me, even with the horrible winner.

Winner: 5/10 Underrated winner, but she was completely overshadowed by Coach, Ozzy, Cochran, and Hantz

Gabon is a very underrated season in my opinion. It was the first season I watched live and the one that got me hooked on the show. Loved the cast, loved that it wasn't filmed on the typical island scene and I thought there were a lot of very entertaining moments and characters. South Pacific didn't offer any of that for me.

I've only seen SoPa, and only about half (spread out over the course of the season, so missed a few chunks) but I voted Gabon. SoPa had some fun characters and I enjoyed the early parts but it was pretty awful during the merge.

Gabon is one of the five seasons I don't know much about beyond winner and one or two highlights that I've kept myself from learning all the boot orders and plots of so I can watch it someday. So, I don't know that much about it, but it's probably better.

SoPa has aa marginally better logo.

South Pacific was decent but holy god what an unlikable cast. Ozzy and his homeboys were god awful, whiny brats and my favorite near the end was RICK of all people. I loved Coach in Tocan and HvV but the religion bullshit in reality TV is an angle I am so fucking tired of being played out.

Gabon is one of the few casts where I remember every single person and can tell you at least one thing they did. Really good casting. Only people I hated on my TV were Corinne, Charlie and Marcus. So much TV gold here, even with the early boots like Ace and GC. I don't care what people say, I loved Bob winning because it was fucking hilarious. Sugar just trolling Matty out of a million dollars for fun was a perfect ending to such a weird season. Besides that fact, I genuinely liked Bob a lot. Although some of the stories I've heard about him post season are a little... off putting. But whatever.

Go listen to Ken's ama (he did one on youtube). Apparently he's a misogynistic douchebag and was accused of some inappropriate touching. People said he was a dick to some female camera crew members too. I think Crystal Cox wanted to ask some question regarding that in FTC but production wouldn't allow it or something.

Gabon:
Rate the season 1-10 on the winner: 5. I don't rate winners on quality of game played or anything like that, but on thematic appropriateness. Bob was suitably WTF for a season like this, but can we not all agree that Susie would have been even more so?
Rate the season 1-10 on entertainment: 8. Constant tribe switches and unpredictable players led to something new every episode, we got the most entertaining Pagonging ever (the fact that it lasted only 3 episodes counts for a lot), and the entire thing is just so unique.
Rate the season 1-10 on the cast overall: 9. Everybody brought something, and it was usually much more than the ridiculous levels of stunt casting would lead you to expect (seriously, with job descriptions like "pin up model", "Super Smash Bros champion", "Olympic gold medalist", and the like, you'd think they went out of their way to cast people who were merely interesting for what they do and not who they are, but boy was that not the case). The way the cast interacted was fascinating as well. We got a nuanced overview of the little things that bring groups of people together and the equally little things that make them hate each other, which there usually isn't a lot of time for.
Rate the season 1-10 on gameplay: 6. Many moves were made, but a lot of them had more impact on individual character development than on the overall battle between Kota and Fang. I don't really care though!
BONUS
Rate the season 1-10 on the location: 9. Beautiful and unique! Docked a point for being confined to little pre-built huts most of the time, but things like the cliffside picnic mostly made up for it.
Rate the season 1-10 on the challenges: 9. So many of the challenges made excellent use of the landscape: climbing up the hill, water polo in the lake, hillside golf, throwing balls off a cliff... good stuff!

Rate the season 1-10 on the winner: 10. Not only does she spoil Ozzy's immunity run, she spoils Coach's cult leader run to the end. She also stands as the best modern-day counterexample to Probst's assertion that you need to make big moves to win: if you start in the best spot in the game, your entire job is to prevent others from making big moves, and she did just that.
Rate the season 1-10 on entertainment: 5. Start with 5 points, dock 2 for Cochran, add 1 for Brandon and 1 for Sophie.
Rate the season 1-10 on the cast overall: 6. If you replaced Ozzy and Coach with two newbies this would easily bump up to a 7, and the added focus on ignored characters (and altered bootlist) might even bump it up to an 8. Lots of good characters went home early: Semhar, Christine, Stacey, even Mikayla was vaguely rootable as an underdog. (Normally I don't ascribe to the Sucks counter-orthodoxy of women being always better than men, but this season comes really close on that front.)
Rate the season 1-10 on gameplay: 4. Some people were willing to do interesting things pre-merge, even if they were boneheaded.
BONUS
Rate the season 1-10 on the location: 6. Yet another season in Samoa, but they found a new beach with a lot of shallow water and a lot of interesting-looking bits of black detritus scattered about. It would be better explored in One World, however.
Rate the season 1-10 on the challenges: 6. I liked challenges like the maypole one, the one where Brandon wins the immunity he gives away, and the ingeniously-constructed wheelbarrow slingshot. Dragged down by the redemption duels being nearly 100% rehashes.
